Si vous êtes prêt à commencer à pêcher à Chincoteague, réservez une sortie avec Reed and Reel Fishing Company. Ayant accumulé de nombreuses heures sur ces marées, le capitaine William peut tout vous dire sur la pêche locale.
Ces eaux sont réputées pour le Tambour rouge, la Truite de mer tachetée, le Flet, le Bar rayé, le Sar commun, le Grand tambour, le Bar commun, le Cobia, le Baliste commun, et bien plus encore – avec un peu de chance, vous le découvrirez par vous-même ! Selon les espèces que vous recherchez, vous pourriez vous retrouver à pratiquer la pêche au lancer, le popping, la pêche à la dandinette, la pêche de fond, ou peut-être quelque chose de plus spécialisé dans cette région.
Les enfants sont les bienvenus, alors sortez-les de leurs écrans et emmenez-les sur l'eau ! Les enfants doivent porter des gilets de sauvetage, alors renseignez-vous pour savoir si la taille appropriée est disponible à bord. N'hésitez pas à apporter vos propres collations pour rester en forme tout au long de votre sortie !
Votre bateau de pêche pour la journée est un Carolina Skiff de 24 pieds pouvant accueillir 4 passagers. Il est équipé de tout l'essentiel. Le capitaine William met à votre disposition des cannes et des moulinets, ainsi que des leurres. Des appâts vivants sont proposés, mais vous devriez demander au capitaine si vous devrez les attraper vous-même.
Votre permis de pêche pour la journée est inclus dans la sortie encadrée, vous n'avez donc qu'à vous réjouir de votre sortie ! Gardez à l'esprit que certaines espèces peuvent avoir des règles spéciales ou des saisons limitées. Votre capitaine vous aidera à respecter la réglementation pendant que vous pêchez.
Quelques articles essentiels à apporter sont des lunettes de soleil, de la crème solaire (non en spray) et de l'eau en bouteille. Si vous souhaitez apporter d'autres boissons, demandez simplement. L'alcool est autorisé avec modération, mais vous devriez éviter les alcools forts ainsi que les bouteilles en verre. De l'eau en bouteille sera fournie.

first time fishing on the island

I wanted to book a trip with someone who knew alot about the island. Captain William has excellent knowledge of the history of the island and gave me great information about all the fishing available in the area. A true pleasure to spend a 4 hour trip with him.We caught alot of fish noting legal but if you’re a fisherman you know thats just how it goes some days. I have taken many charters and his trip was right up there with the best. Don’t miss out on this charter. I know I will be booking the next time I am in the area

Great time with Billy

We had 4h perfect hours of a family friendly fishing trip. Though our fishing skills were quite widely spread (absolut beginner to 35years of fishing-addiction) everyone had fun and more then one (small) catch. After 3 hours at a beautyfull spot in the Marshs we still had time to move on.
As Billy is Chincoteague born and bred he could he easily fullfilled our daughters wish and brought us close to some Ponys (Phoenix Wildfire was one of them), Dolphins and a bald Eagle sat close by to watch us pass.
Wildlife never gives a guarantee to show up but with a little patience and a great guide like Billy there is a very good chance to see plenty.
We are gratefull for this experience, thank you!

What a great time!

Capt Billy is a proud young man, having grown up in this area. He knows the water, the history and the ponies! He was such a joy-he provided everything we needed and made sure we were all set for our wonderful 4 hour adventure. He had plenty of different kinds of poles so when we changed areas to fish we were using the right one. He provided us great narrative and history of this area (we have just moved to DE) and he took us to many different sites on the water. He also is personally involved with maintaining the ponies, a huge part of the culture and attraction to this area (his family has a long history and involvement in generations of the Chincoteague horses and fishing community). While we didn't catch the fish we wanted, it was not for a lack of trying. We went ALL over the bay and then some trying different spots. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously on a sun soaked evening! We'd highly recommend Capt Billy and Reed and Reel for your fishing and history and knowledge of this lovely area.

Only charter I’ll go on in Chincoteague

My family and I have done multiple charters in Chincoteague now, we’ve always caught fish and I considered that a win - but after going out with Billy I can say he is the best. His knowledge of the island is unmatched- many locals were yelling hello to him and asking where to fish that day. He is ambitious, personable, and fun to fish with. Plus he gave us so many island recommendations that were all great. 10/10

Fishing + Ponies with Capt Reed
2 Hour Trip –Sunset/Pony/Quick Fish le July 24, 2025
We loved our time out on the boat with Capt Reed! He was so kind to our kids yet so helpful with new skills for the adults. We even got to see some ponies up close while out with him- he knew so much about the ponies and island! We will definitely be going out with him again in our future summers on Chincoteague. Highly recommend for families and avid fisherman alike!
