Truite de mer tachetée, Tambour rouge, Vivaneau à queue jaune, Vivaneau sorbe, Brochet de mer, Tarpon, Banane de mer, Pompaneau plume, Requin citron, et bien d'autres sont au rendez-vous si vous venez à la bonne période de l'année. Pour ces espèces, vous pêcherez probablement au lancer avec du matériel léger.

Les familles qui prévoient d'y passer la journée seront ravies de savoir que les enfants sont les bienvenus à bord ! N'oubliez pas de demander si des gilets de sauvetage pour enfants sont disponibles, sinon vous devrez apporter les vôtres. Pensez également à apporter des collations pour éviter toute fatigue en cours de sortie !

Le capitaine Travis vous accueille à bord d'un bateau de type flats Shallow Sport de 24 pieds pouvant accueillir 5 passagers. Il dispose de tout l'essentiel. Vous trouverez cannes, moulinets et matériel qui vous attendent, ainsi que des leurres. Des appâts vivants sont disponibles, mais il est bon de poser la question pour savoir si vous devrez les pêcher vous-même.

Pas besoin d'acheter un permis de pêche, il vous suffit donc de vous présenter prêt à passer un bon moment ! Certains poissons font l'objet de réglementations spéciales, notamment concernant les périodes où vous pouvez les garder. Votre capitaine vous aidera à respecter la réglementation pendant que vous pêchez.

Tout ce que vous devez apporter, ce sont des lunettes de soleil et une bonne attitude. De l'eau sera disponible pour vous. L'alcool est autorisé avec modération, assurez-vous simplement d'éviter les spiritueux ainsi que les bouteilles en verre car AUCUN VERRE n'est autorisé à bord.

Everglades Light-Tackle Experience

Full Day Trip – Backcountry le January 22, 2026 • 2 adultes

Captain Travis provides an absolutely amazing light-tackle fishing experience. From the start, he’s extremely responsive and takes the time to ask what you want to do before the trip. He truly tailors the day around your goals and skill level.

The Everglades is an absolute playground, with tons of light-tackle species available year-round. His boat, Shallow Water Sport, is a fishing machine—cruising around 35 mph in as little as 6 inches of water. Honestly, the ride through Everglades National Park alone was worth the cost of the trip, even if we never touched a rod.

The boat is very roomy with a stable hull, allowing multiple people to fish comfortably at the same time. Captain Travis genuinely enjoys putting his customers on fish, runs hard when it counts, and isn’t afraid to try new techniques or locations to make the day successful. Most importantly, he teaches along the way—sharing the techniques and styles that have worked for him. Unless your a seasoned very you will leave a better angler than when you arrived.

If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, passionate captain who delivers a top-tier Everglades fishing experience, you won’t be disappointed. 🎣

First Redfish, Shark Catch & an Unforgettable Day with Captain Travis

Half Day Trip – Backcountry (AM) le December 24, 2025 • 2 adultes

We had an absolutely incredible time fishing with Captain Travis in the backcountry off Islamorada. This trip was beyond anything we expected.
I caught my first redfish, which we cooked for Christmas Eve, along with seven mangrove snapper—all amazing fish. We also caught some jackfish, which Captain Travis helped us use to hook a shark, and that experience was unforgettable.
Captain Travis truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. He is incredibly down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and more than willing to accommodate. From start to finish, he made us feel safe, confident, and comfortable, and it was clear we were in excellent hands the entire trip.
My fiancé and I highly recommend Captain Travis to anyone looking for an authentic, exciting, and memorable fishing experience in the Keys.

Captain Travis provided us with an unforgettable fishing experience! We had a great day in the Everglades backcountry and were busy catching fish all day. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to catch all the inshore species and have a great time doing it. He was very helpful, informative, and is a great guide for any angler from beginner to experienced.

Fantastic Experience Highly Recommend!

I recently had the chance to take my two sons (ages 19 and 16), both avid mid-level anglers, out with Capt. Travis Camacho. Before the trip, we asked to target specific species, and Capt. Travis delivered—taking us to precise spots to make it happen. The day was a huge success: we landed over 30 fish, visited multiple locations, and enjoyed every moment. Capt. Travis was courteous, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist when needed. I would absolutely book with A Fishing Guru again on my next trip to Islamorada!

We’ve taken many fishing trips in the past and Travis stands out for many reasons. He has the right boat to get you where you need to go as well as quality gear and the fishing knowledge to back it up. Travis is also very personable and cares about the customer experience. He values your time on the water while accommodating anglers of any skill level. We enjoyed Travis so much that two of us decided to come back the next day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
