Top Gun Charters is your answer to offshore fishing from Key Biscayne. Test your skills on the area’s great variety of big game species in the company of a top-level outfitter who settles for nothing less than the very best. Offering private Half and Full day deep sea fishing trips, specialty Tuna and Swordfish charters, as well as trips to the beautiful Bahamas and back, Top Gun Charters is an unparalleled outfitter in the Key Biscayne area.
Top Gun is a fast, sturdy, and spacious luxury Hatteras, outfitted with a roomy air-conditioned salon and a luxurious head, and powered by modern engines. The boat also features a toilet on board, and comes equipped with the standard marine and navigational electronics a charter might need, such as top-of-the-line GPS, radio, Fishfinder as well as a multimedia system. 41’ long, the boat can comfortably accommodate fishing groups of up to 6 people per charter.
From their dock in Key Biscayne, all the way to the Bahamas, Top Gun Charters goes where the fish are. They are committed to providing you with an unforgettable fishing trip. The Miami area is teeming with trophy pelagics, such as Sailfish, Marlin and Swordfish, Dolphin fish (Dorado), Tuna, Cobia, King Mackerel, Amberjack, Snapper, Grouper and many others.
Captain Nel is happy to provide you with all the fishing gear your group will need, along with both live and artificial bait. Nel is a member of the Daiwa Captain’s Program so you’ll be using Daiwa reels exclusively, where all the rods are custom-made to the crew’s specifications.
Please note that the gratuities are not included in the overall trip price (20% for the First Mate).

A trip to remember

Captain Rob and his outstanding crew made for an incredible fishing experience. They put us on Sailfish, Mahi, Kingfish, Barracuda and taught us lots of local knowledge. The Top Gun was the right boat for some sloppy Seas. Highly recommended this group!

Half Day Trip with Captain Nel

This was a great experience. Most of the people in my group were new to fishing. Captain Nel and the first mate Jose taught us everything and made this an exceptional first experience. We caught a couple sailfish, two Bonita fish, and a king fish. I’ve gone on a few charters with captain Nel and I’m never disappointed. Highly recommended

Full Day with Captain Albert and Kyle

I had originally booked this trip as dusk Tuna trip but Captain Nel did a great job of working with me to change it up as there were no Tuna biting at the time. We instead made it a full day trip starting at 1pm.
Captain Nel was actually on vacation but had Captain Albert and Kyle take us out. The boat was in great shape and actually had great air conditioning...so it was super comfortable. The gear on the boat was top notch as well.
We were excited to fish with Captain Albert and Kyle as they had just won tournament and obviously know what they are doing. As a result, they got us on fish and kept us there, and we definitely appreciated it. They worked so well as a two man team that they actually picked out individual fish they wanted to catch. Our only issue is that they were kind of fishing without us. Cast every line. Hooked every fish. Gave us a pole to hold then grabbed the fish when we lifted it in. We asked several times to get our sons more involved and build out the experience but never really got to that point. It turned into a full day fishing observation trip. That might be what some folks like...If so, these guys are really good. Just wasn't exactly what we were looking for.
