The crew is led by Captain Robert Manhardt who has been fishing this lake for many years, and knows exactly where to go to make each trip an adventure on the Lake Michigan.
Capt. Robert will take you fishing on a 32' Wellcraft offshore sportfishing boat, powered by two 360 HP Mercruiser engines, with a maximum cruising speed of 30 knots. The speedy vessel will take you to your fishing grounds quickly and comfortably. It contains a bed, a kitchen, a refrigerator, and a toilet which is a huge plus for the whole family.
This beautiful lake spans over 22,404 square miles, and is the second largest of the Five Great Lakes of North America. It has a healthy population of both Trout and Salmon, ranging from Steelhead, Brown Trout, and Coho and Chinook Salmon.
These fish are all excellent to eat and have good game qualities, too. You'll have a good workout catching them as well as a delicious and fresh dinner when you get back home.
Capt. Robert will clean and fillet your catch at the end of your trip so all you have to do is think of a recipe you want to use for dinner preparation. You will have all the fishing gear and baits on board, as well as downriggers, and a first mate to help you reel in.

After researching reviews, I booked a Salmon Fishing Trip with Manhardt Charters. I have to say we had the absolute “Best Time Ever!!!” Captain Rob is extremely knowledgeable, and he goes the extra mile to put us on fish and ensure we have an enjoyable experience. He is a pleasure to chat with during the trip, and offers helpful hints along the way to help everyone make sure they have a fulfilling experience. We caught some whoppers & took home a heaping 5 gallon bucket of delicious salmon fillets. I attest, that Captain Rob with Manhardt Charters will provide for you, the “Best Time Ever” too!
We had a great time!! Our caption seemed knowledgeable of the area and on how to help us catch the most fish possible. We got a great mixed bag of fish!!! Absolutely recommend this charter and caption.
What a great guy , great boat, great day! Rob is such a kind + easygoing guide. He was patient with our questions and told us some entertaining stories. I took three boys (12, 15 and 16) on a 6 hour trip. Well worth the money! Lovely views of the city and lake. Terrific fishing! We brought in a lot of fish and the last one of the day was a record breaking Rainbow. We took it home to be mounted. Catch of a lifetime - especially for the 12 year old who reeled it in. You can’t go wrong hiring Rob! (Shout out to Lukas his first mate too. Also great!)
We are return customers! Captain Rob and Connor were great. Even on a slower morning, they worked hard to find the fish and we caught a mess of coho and kings. We will see them again for sure.
