Fish Key West – The Coolwater II 

We booked a 6 hour charter with Forest and not even that was enough! He was such a knowledgeable captain which made our day such a blast. We had a mix of beginner and mildly experienced fishers. He knew exactly where to go to catch what we wanted, including some delicious fish to eat for dinner that night as well as some deeper water adventures! Our next visit will absolutely include another charter with him. Definitely recommend!!

Weather wasn’t on our side but we can’t control that so we made the best of it and caught some good fish for the day, 10/10 would come back!

I’d like to thank our captain, Ryan. He took us out and put us right on the mahi. I can’t say enough good things about Ryan. Me and the wife decided to drink late the night before so we suffered a little. Lol, but we survived. Now for the big ass fish story. Ryan put us on the weed line and this majestic animal decided to bite. What a fight it gave me. It took me two hours to get this monster up to the boat. After two hours I had to tap captain Ryan in because my arms were jelly after that fight. His fresh arms were what was needed to bring it up. We will definitely be coming back with these guys. We highly recommend if you’re looking for your own fish story.

Damon really takes pride to make sure his charter guests have a great experience; understanding they are booking the charters to have fun and catch the amazing fish the Key West area has to offer. My wife and I booked a 6 hour charter w/ Captain Damon based on the excellent reviews and his suggestion from his featured fishingbooker profile video.  Top notch experience!!  He did not disappoint.  The day he had planned out after talking with him the day before our trip had to change due to high winds the day of.  Because of his knowledge of fishing the Key West area, he knew where to go.  Since we had 6 hours to work with we went the multiple locations and he put us on good fishing each time.  When he asked if we wanted to catch some big game, possibly some shark, there was no way we were going to say no to that option.  We ended up hooking multiple types of fish, a huge Cobia and a huge Bull Shark (talking as least 300 lbs)!  It was a catch of a lifetime for me. He was so pumped for me when I got on a nice Cobia and brought that in and then it seemed like he made it his personal mission for me to be able to reel in a shark. After hooking a couple of fails in the line, he changed out to a different line and I was ultimately able to bring a Bull Shark. He definitely went the extra mile for us and will for you too. Had a great 3/4 day with Captain Joey. Not the best day for fishing but we found bait fish and he took us to some “honey holes.” Very patient with our 10 year old novice fisherman ( who helped with the chumming.) Cleaned our fish, packaged and put on ice… recommend Hurricane Hole to cook our catch… 5 stars all day long

Outstanding half day trip (split a.m.). Capt Ray was knowledgeable and great. Extremely patient and gave great insight to landing fish successfully. Got us on fish early with little expectations before we made the first cast. He also did a great job filleting the fish once back at the dock. Before we departed he recommended several restaurants on the island that offered hook & cook. Highly recommended and when we come back we’ll specifically ask for Capt Ray again!! Thank you sir!!

We loved fishing with Captain John! He put us onto great snapper on the reef, followed by schools of mahi mahi in deep water. We were reeling them in faster than we could count! No kidding! It’s always fun to fish with a guide who pays attention to detail and works hard to make sure you have a great experience- and that’s just what you’ll get if you go fishing with Captain John. Awesome experience. Highlight of our vacation!

Went on a four hour trip on a very windy day. Due to the wind we stayed in shore. We quickly ended in an area populated by Yellow Jacks. Between the four of us we caught about 25-30 of them keeping 3 or 4. We also kept a few mutton and mangrove snappers. After the bite slowed down we caught and released 3 sharks. It was a very enjoyable day when not many boats ventured out. The Captain was efficient and friendly. I highly recommend Coolwater II.
