Stray Cat Charters vous invite à vivre une véritable expérience de pêche galvestonienne avec le capitaine Jerry Praker. Jerry pêche dans les eaux de Galveston, au Texas, depuis toujours et vient d'une famille de pêcheurs commerciaux qui opèrent ici depuis les années 1920. Ce riche héritage de pêche signifie que votre capitaine a appris des meilleurs et est capable d'offrir des expériences inoubliables à tous les passagers à bord.
Le Chris Craft Flybridge de 30 pieds a été construit à l'origine en 1977 et restauré en 2017 pour moderniser toutes ses caractéristiques et offrir à ses clients une expérience de pêche encore meilleure. Le bateau est très confortable avec un lit, une cuisine, des toilettes, la climatisation dans la cabine, un système multimédia pour le divertissement et de nombreuses autres fonctionnalités. Vous utiliserez le vivier pour stocker les appâts, la glacière pour garder les prises au frais et le flybridge pour repérer les poissons.
Le capitaine Jerry peut vous emmener pêcher en zone côtière ou proche du large, selon l'option de sortie que vous choisissez pour votre groupe. La sortie d'une demi-journée dans les jetées est réservée au tambour rouge, à la truite, au flet et au grand tambour. Les sorties de pêche au requin (celles-ci sont uniquement en capture et remise à l'eau, cela inclut les raies) vous permettront de cibler le requin bouledogue, le requin bordé, le requin-marteau et d'autres espèces. Enfin, si la pêche au large est votre rêve, vous serez ravi de savoir que le thazard barré, la carangue crevalle, la guinée-machète, la raie et d'autres espèces vivent dans ces eaux.
Stray Cat Charters dispose de cannes et moulinets Shimano et Penn, d'une sélection d'appâts vivants et artificiels, et d'une variété de matériel de pêche, et ils ont un premier lieutenant présent sur toutes les sorties. Si vous souhaitez garder du poisson pour le dîner, ils peuvent nettoyer et fileter vos prises. Tout ce que vous devez apporter, c'est votre crème solaire et un choix de collations et de boissons. Les enfants de moins de 6 ans ne sont pas autorisés sur le bateau pour des raisons de sécurité.

The fish weren’t biting - no one was catching anything, including all the boats around us. The captain did everything he could to locate fish. Both that’s fishing. We will get them next time.

Half day trip with Captain Jerry

What a great, fun, day on the gulf!! My nephews and I had a wonderful day fishing with Captain Jerry. The book is in excellent condition, the fishing rods and reels were all easy to use. With a simple lesson we were ready to cast our lines. Our group included two young teens, ages 12 and 14. As well as an old lady, 70 and slightly handicapped using a cane. Jerry, and his deck hand, Trey were patient and helpful assisting me onto (and off) the boat. We fished for a few hours and the boys caught fish such as trout, rock fish, and even a couple of eels. Captain Jerry then set the boat to trawling and we hoped to catch a couple of sharks. TJ had a shark on the line, but it jumped the hook about 4 feet from the boat. Weather was great most of the day - had some shade and a breeze at times. But we didn't really mind the hot July day because we were on the water having a blast!

I gave my husband, son in law and grandson a fishing trip for Fathers Day and they had the best time with Captain Jerry! He is great with kids and they caught plenty of fish! Storms were rolling in through Galveston this morning so Captain Jerry called to delay the trip to let the storms pass instead of just canceling. His first mate was super nice and my grandson said he liked this trip the best out of the others they have taken over the years. We will for sure book again with Captain Jerry our next trip to Galveston!!! Thanks for giving my guys such a fun trip and making their day!!

Tuesday Morning Turned Friday Afternoon
Half Day Trip – Jetty Fishing (AM) le June 14, 2022 • 3 adultes
Trip was planned months in advance was cancelled Monday night for high winds - unsafe conditions. But prior to cancelling Captain Jerry reached out and called me explaining the situation fully. He stayed in communication via calls and text messages all week while we were in Galveston with the family and as conditions improved we were able to reschedule for yesterday afternoon. Before we headed out the door to head for the marina, Capt Jerry called and said conditions are great but the fish just weren’t biting, offering to cancel the trip. I appreciated the level of communication and his candor. We went anyway. He was right - didn’t catch much but it wasn’t for his lack of effort. Capt Jerry was busy on the phone gathering info from his sources on good spots and we went to a few. That’s fishing though. The best thing that happened that day was connecting with Captain Jerry and his hand Yardstick aboard his boat Stray Cat. 100% recommended and we will be back with them in the fall.

Excellent Morning Jetty Trip

My family had a blast on our jetty fishing trip! Captain Jerry has a great heart and quick wit and was a pleasure spending a few hours with on the boat. We caught plenty of fish in all the species we were hoping for. The Captain’s expertise and friendly connections made sure we found the ‘hot spots’ to keep on catching!
The highlight of our trip was hooking into a large Jack Crevalle and orchestrating a team effort to land it after a good fight. We also enjoyed catching plenty of speckled trout, sheepshead, redfish, and catfish. As catch and release fishermen, we appreciated the extra care spent in making sure all our catches were handled correctly and released quickly in order to not disrupt their health.
A unique part of this charter was the included “first mate”, who was fantastic at helping us keep our lines in the water with fresh live bait, and netting our catches. The boat itself is very comfortable and large, with shade to retreat to if needed and a proper toilet, which was a huge selling point for my mother.
Our experience with this charter was amazing, and we would absolutely book them time and time again if we find ourselves back on the island. Thanks y’all for the memories!
