Ocean Fun & Fishing – Big Game Fishing Portugal est une entreprise de sorties encadrées et une marque déposée créée en 2016 par le Capitaine João A. Melo, dédiée à la pêche au gros sur la côte de l'Algarve, au départ de la marina d'Olhão.

Le 'Sal X' est un Riviera de 36 pieds rénové en 2023. Il est stable, fiable et conçu pour l'océan profond. Les deux moteurs Cummins de 370 CV donnent au bateau une vitesse de croisière de 18 nœuds et une vitesse maximale de 26 nœuds. Les équipements à bord comprennent des toilettes pour votre confort, une cuisine pour préparer vos repas et un espace confortable pour les repas de détente. Mais le plus important, il est équipé d'un fauteuil de combat, de tangons, de downriggers et de tous les éléments essentiels d'une machine de pêche.

Les cannes, moulinets, matériel, leurres et appâts sont inclus. L'équipage est prêt à vous accueillir à bord pour l'expérience de pêche au large et vous accueillera, vous et votre groupe, dans cette aventure unique.

Si les poissons à rostre sont votre passion, venez au Portugal, le meilleur spot de pêche au gros en Europe. Les eaux chaudes de la mer Méditerranée entrant dans l'océan Atlantique remontent jusqu'au golfe de Cadix, faisant de cette zone le seul endroit en Europe où il est possible de capturer, marquer et relâcher les poissons à rostre et certains des plus gros thons rouges du monde.

Le Capitaine João A. Melo, CAPITAINE IGFA, et son équipage accueillent les pêcheurs de tous niveaux, vous enseignant si nécessaire et vous aidant à atteindre le summum d'avoir un thon rouge géant ou un marlin bleu au bout de la ligne, et c'est le combat d'une vie. Les sorties de pêche au gros ultimes en Algarve.

Les grands spécimens pélagiques sont marqués et relâchés, et garantir les meilleures conditions pour leur survie est une priorité, en suivant les directives d'associations internationales telles que l'IGFA et la Billfish Foundation. Nous collaborons également avec des chercheurs scientifiques de l'IPMA (Institut Portugais de la Mer et de l'Atmosphère) pour l'étude de diverses espèces.

Making Dreams come true - Amazing day

Half day - Family Friends day OFF le August 6, 2025 • 3 adultes • 3 enfants

Captain Joao and the guys on board made it a day to remember for the rest of our lives. 

We went out for white marlin in one of the toughest months of the season and we came back with one caught (20/25KG), one fish lost, saw 50+ dolphins and 2/3 pilot whales. Truly great morning out. 

We had a lovely breakfast laid on for us on arrival that all of us enjoyed. The boat had more than enough cold drinks of every type for us. They were all very knowledgable and spoke great English and spent time explaining all about the fishing and the fish. 

We had two kids with us (11 and 9) and the youngest felt sea sick so captain gave him anti sea sickness tablets that obviously worked as he managed to sneak off and eat half of the cake we were given for breakfast 🤣. 

The other boy caught the first fish we hooked and the guys tagged and released it, giving him a certificate that named the fish after him and gave him a memento of the capture that he will never forget. 

All in all a great trip and cannot recommend more. 

I’ll definitely be looking to return and go out again with these guys.

Dear Henry, thank you for understanding our job, it’s a requirement on Ocean Fun and Fishing to know all about Ria Formosa and the sea around us as the fishing in Portugal… explain to the anglers what is going on here, what you can fish or what you don’t and the penalties for fishing illegally. 
The kids/young adults are our future and it’s a great pleasure to have them on board and always do what is on our power to make the experience memorable, as always we'll be ready to welcome you again for another marvelous day of fishing and the seafari, as it was this year but with different species!

Unforgettable Fishing Trip in Olhão with Captain João! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Half day - Family Friends day OFF le July 27, 2025 • 6 adultes

We had an absolutely amazing morning out on the water with Captain João and his fantastic team in Olhão, Algarve. Our group of six—mostly young adults—had such a fun and memorable experience. The crew were warm, professional, and made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped on board.

The fishing itself was great—we caught plenty of fish and had lots of laughs along the way. Captain João shared his local knowledge and really made the trip feel personal and special.

The best part? The youngsters took our catch home and grilled it later that day—fresh, delicious, and the perfect end to an unforgettable outing. Highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting the Algarve. Thank you again to João and the team!

Great day on the Water

My son and brother inlaw wanted to fish offshore in the Algarve, I can't say enough about Joao and his crew. The crew and captain were a class act and very friendly. We   will go back next year no doubt. 10 min into the trip, we hooked and landed a large white marlin, awesome day and can't say enough about this boat, Ty again gents, you made our trip
