I started fishing as a kid in the river that flowed behind our house. In 1992 I moved to northern lower Michigan and fell in love with fishing bass in Lake Michigan and connecting waters.

David WilkePêcheur fidèle5.0VérifiéGreat day fishing for Michigan smallmouth
Sortie à la journée complète • 2 adultesHad a great experience fishing with captain Jack. Put us on some nice smallies first 10 minutes. Caught several quality fish , including a 5.6 lb which my son was stoked . Always a great day to be on the lake, even better when you have a good guide.Watch out for those chatter baits they’re money!
Réponse du CapitaineIt was a great trip. I have a chatterbait combo all setup for next time! thank you!

Sortie à la journée complète • 2 adultesOur experience with Captain Jack was top notch! The trip was for my 13 year old son and I, and it was our first time on Traverse Bay. We came away with a fish just under 5 lbs and several more in the 3lbs range. We fished every type of terrain the bay had to offer from shallow rock fields, to depth line transitions to submerged points in 20 plus feet, coming away with fish at each. We had a great day with guide knowledgeable about the fishery, the history of the area, and who is truly excited to share his experience with you. We will definitely be back again next year!

Sortie d'une demi-journée • 3 adultes • 2 enfantsHad a great father son fishing trip with Captain Jack. Bite was slow but he did everything he could to get us on fish. We were able to put some nice smallmouths in the boat. Captain is a lot of fun and we really enjoyed our time on the water with him. We look forward to coming back and fishing with Captain Jack. Highly recommend

Fishing is awesome!!
juin 9, 2026 • Suttons Bay
Fishing is great and will only get better the next couple weeks. Fish are moving up to spawn and cruising the shallows. Best time if year to get a trophy!

Trophy Time!
juin 3, 2026 • Suttons Bay
If you have every wanted to catch a trophy smallmouth now is the time. Water has moved into the 50s and fish are pushing shallow to get ready to spawn. There’s nothing like watching hundreds of fish cruising the shallow!

It’s finally warm!
mai 26, 2026 • Suttons Bay
Fishing is turning on in the bays and will only get better with the warmer temperatures. Right now is the best time to catch your trophy smallmouth! Fish are moving up to start the spawn and they are aggressive.

Cold water BIG fish
mai 26, 2025 • Suttons Bay
Fished Monday and Tuesday water was still in the 40s but we found some excellent Smallmouth, biggest was a monster 6.9# with our 5 biggest going 24.11. Fishing is going this continue to get better as more fish move up to get ready for the spawn.

Spring is here!
mai 15, 2025 • Suttons Bay
Fishing was starting to kick in on West Bay prior to this week's cold and rainy weather. Fish started moving shallow when the sun was up and warming the water, caught one over 5# and four over 4# with numerous fish in the #3 class on my first trip to the bay. Water is extremely clear this spring and with the coldest part of the week over, fishing will kick back in full speed. I have prime dates in June available, with big pre-spawn fish cruising the flats.
