Giant Bass Biting!

Trip Summary Spring has sprung, and so has the bite on Orlando’s Lake Toho. Most cold fronts are long gone, the temps are becoming steadier, and the fish are gorging themselves now after the spawn, officially making it post-spawn. The bass are beginning to school and chase bait to the surface in certain areas, and 20-30 fish days are becoming common! The best bite on our charters has been on shiners, especially if you’re looking for bigger bass. But artificial intelligence has also been productive. Flukes, jerkbaits, senkos, speedworms, and topwaters in the areas the bass have been schooling have all been working well. As we move into summer, the bass have mostly moved offshore to submerged grass clumps. Good hydrilla, peppergrass, and eel grass are all over the lake. Once you’re over top of one of these grass flats, just get to fishing. Nearly all of these areas throughout Toho are holding bass right now, and keep your eyes peeled, as bass have been coming up to school occasionally throughout the lake as well. Right now, we have more hydrilla on the lake than ever before, and the invasive grass is fantastic for bass fishing. While regular boaters don't enjoy it, it's not a problem for regular boaters. The water, which typically has an algae bloom at this time of year, is the cleanest we have seen during the summer, and the bass are loving it. We are averaging an incredible 25+ bass a day under normal conditions. The two and four-hour trips are great to get out early or late and rip some lip.
