3rd year in a row of great fishing!
Captain Tripp gave my boys and I a great laidback and productive day out on the water. Also gave really good recipe advice for our catches od the day! Delicious!!!
Booked a AM Inshore for buddy and I with Capt. Tripp. Showed up, got right on the boat and off we went. Tried a couple of spots before he said. “Y’all good to try nearshore fishing?” We both said yes and boy was it the right thing to do. We caught 2 massive Redfish, a Cobia, a few flounder, toadfish, a bluefish, and a bunch of Black Sea Bass. Unfortunately the only that was legal to keep was the Sea Bass and bluefish. Redfish were too big and Cobia was just a bit too small. All an all it was a great trip and very thankful he asked if we wanted to change up the planned inshore trip to a nearshore trip. Will definitely be back to fish with Capt Tripp again!
Captain Tripp was a fantastic guide who knows his waters and put us on fish. We cast netted for live bait that took mere minutes and caught shrimp, mullet and shad (?) and were hooking up in the first 30 minutes. We hit our limit of trout with a mix of other catches that were fun to land on the boat. We caught a monster too and it was great for a photo op before releasing. Our second day we targeted reds and my twin boys caught their first slot reds, giving them the bug. All in all a great experience, so we’ll be back.

My brothers and I spent an afternoon fishing with Captain Tripp and we can’t say enough how much we enjoyed ourselves. We were lucky enough to hit a great King Mackerel bite right off the bat and things only got better from there. Species landed besides Kings were some bull drums, speckled trout, black drum, toadfish, flounder, and a couple of sharks. Capt. Tripp really knows his stuff, is super quick on getting and keeping lines out, and just seems to have a knack for finding the fish. Also, he’s just a fun and knowledgeable guide to fish with all day long. We can’t wait to get back to Ocean Isle and get after ‘em again next year. Thanks again Capt. Tripp!
We thoroughly enjoyed inshore fishing with Tripp. He grew up around here and knows these waters well. Even after rainy days and cloudy water he was able to set us up to catch a nice variety that included black drum, trout, and flounder. He was also willing to answer questions and share techniques. Great guide, highly recommend!
Tripp was great, especially with my grandchildren. He was hard at work for us the entire trip and kept the kids baited up and fishing. Nice boat and fishing equipment. The fish were a little uncooperative on our afternoon, but we still caught a few. He knows what he’s doing. I recommend him to anyone.

Capt was awesome. We had two boys with us 11 and 12. Capt was super patient and laidback. Baited hooks and casts for the boys. Untangled all their messes lol. Put us on good spots (caught something at every stop) while teaching the boys (and us) a lot about what’s in these waters. We caught a lot we had to throw back. The pics don’t show just how many bites we actually had. What was also fun the kids was watching Capt catch a ton of bait fish like it was nothing. Fishing with live shrimp Capt has just caught was a huge bonus. Super nice guy that knows his craft well.
This guy certainly knows his craft. His knowledge of the waters and where to fish are nothing short of amazing. As a boat owner myself I can see the dedication he’s invested in fishing. It’s certainly made him efficient as a captain and guide. Great equipment, Great time and a cooler full of fish, that he also cleaned, washed and bagged up. Take the trip. You won’t be disappointed. Great day with Captain Tripp Hooks! We limited out on Red Drum. Also, landed and released half dozen trout. Caught a couple of black drum for dinner as well as a couple Sheepshead and about a dozen Spanish Mackerel.

The weather was brutal all week so we knew what we were getting into. But despite this, Captain Tripp worked his tail off to put us on the fish. His effort and attitude was tremendous. Clearly communicated everything we were doing and way. The guy really knows the Ocean Isle waterways. He really went out of his way to set up different rigs in a lot of different places. Once it was clear they werent biting in a spot, we were on the move. We hunted the reds and caught several really nice specks and black drum. His efforts really saved the outing in what was certainly a gloomy situation weather wise. I can’t say every captain would have done the same. Ocean Isle is a great location and we’ll definitely go back out with Captian Tripp in better conditions.
We had anxiously awaited Tripp's return to the water and he did not disappoint. As in the past his pursuit of fish was relentless. While we started off a bit slow we ultimately landed several red fish and had a wonderful overall experience. We'll be back for more charters with Tripp!

Captain Tripp worked hard to put us on some fish, even with the bad weather conditions. Had a great time and would use Captain Tripp again!!
Another excellent day fishing with Captain Tripp. Caught some nice Reds. Looking forward to another day out with Captain Tripp later this week.
we had a great time on our trip. Captain was great with my 8 year old son. Very knowledgeable on where to fish and how to fish.
