Luminare Sport Fishing 

Although we only caught 4 fish - 2 tuna, a sailfish, and a marlin- the captains and crew made this the best experience possible. of course we would have loved to catch more, but they did their best and were very attentive to the lines. even made us fresh tuna sashimi! would absolutely reccomend these guys, especially when fishing is more in season in costa rica. for this being our first time offshore, I couldnt be more content with how the day went. I can only imagine how fun it would have been to be in-season fishing with these guys!

Today my dad and I had an amazing time fishing with Captain Andy, Erik, and Jose! We are from Florida and came to Coata Rica to celebrate his 70th birthday. The team was very easy to communicate with leading up to the charter. They were very friendly and knew their craft in the water! They put us on a school of Mahi early in the morning, and we filled the entire cooler by 9am. My dad caught the biggest Mahi of his life which ended up being 70” long, weighing in over 50lbs! A true tournament winner! The 10 or so other Mahi we kept were all 20- 35 lbs. we also caught a big 40+ lb Big Eye Tuna. Erik and Jose made us fresh tuna sashimi with that afternoon catch. We weren’t able to hookup with any billfish during this November trip, but all in all had an amazing time. I would highly recommend the Luminare team if you are considering a fishing trip in Los Suenos!

The Capt and Crew are great professionals who love fishing and taking care of people. They worked extremely hard to get us on the fish and fished hard up until the very last moment. We hooked up 4 times and brought in three giant tuna ranging from 30 to 100 lbs. The crew cleaned and served sashimi like a five star restaurant. Thanks again to Captain Andy and first mates Jose and Erick. Our family loved the experience.

This fishing trip felt like it came straight out of a storybook. We were fishing among hundreds of dolphins while catching yellowfin tuna—an incredible experience. The crew, Éric and Jose, were fantastic. They were fun to be around and worked hard the entire 9-hour trip to make sure we had every chance to catch fish. Captain Andy stepped in for Captain Pedro, and early in the trip I mentioned that I had spent a full day 2 days prior trying to catch a roosterfish with no luck. On the way back to the dock, Captain Andy remembered my story and stopped at a specific spot, grabbed a rod and fished from the fly bridge while we were fishing on deck, and within five minutes he gave me the rod and I was hooked into a 41-inch roosterfish and another 5 minutes after that my son was onto another one. I’ve been fishing for 45 years, and I can honestly say it felt like watching a master at work. Thank you Captain Andy, and deckhands Éric and Jose, for an unforgettable trip.

The captain and the 2 mates worked really hard to catch fish as soon as we started trolling we caught a sailfish and maybe 20 minutes later we caught 2 more then we decided to go out further for tuna and as soon as we got there he thru the lines in and caught a 55lb tuna and then about 5 minutes later we caught a 200 lb tuna and then hooked another 50lb what a day then we decided to come back in and have some sushi on the boat which was spotless my best day fishing ever

If you are looking for an excellent Captain and crew that know what they are doing, cater to your requirements, continuously work to put fish in the boat while making sure you are having fun... you found it. We had a blast. We wanted to target sailfish, and they produced!!! A picture of one of the sailfish we caught is attached. I highly recommend this Luminare.

I’ve been coming to Costa Rica for over 15 years and always had good luck fishing. I finally found a boat that is the perfect size and can get up and go. Andy and Eric were very knowledgeable and professional. They asked what we want to target. Tuna was on the menu. We landed some nice Tuna’s ranging from 20-60 lb.

The fishing was slow for everyone but Pedro and crew just refused to take “no” for an answer and both boys were able to land a nice sailfish and we had mahi mahi for dinner! The boat was great, the crew was super friendly and skilled and the food Pedro’s wife made was delicious. We will definitely book with Luminare again.

The guys on the Luminaire worked hard to put us on fish and they did. The boat is clean and quick. Wifi on board was very nice to have! My dad was able to scratch off a bucket list fish (a big Pacific Sailfish). The crew never stopped working to put us on fish and make syre we were taken care of!

1st time fishing in Costa Rica and had an awsome time ! As with fishing it’s not guaranteed, but my wife and I managed to catch our first pacific sailfish, double header !! Unfortunately the tuna bite was slow. The crew, Capitan Andy, mates Eric and Jose’ did a great job !
