I took my 12-year old son on a 4-hour morning charter with Good Hit. I am not really into fishing. I fished as a kid so I know the basics, but my son has gotten really into inland fishing with his friends, so he was super excited for this trip. We caught 4 bonita for bait on the way out to the spot that Pete, our captain, had selected to try. We were not lucky. They use a kite outrigger and the wind changed direction and died down on us so we had to pull in the three baits set out on that earlie. We fished for a little longer with a couple of deep baits, but no luck. I recognize that fishing is not a guarantee so I was not that upset. With a 4-hour trip, it is not a lot of time to try and get something. It was a beautiful day and Pete was a nice guy and I could tell he was trying hard to get us some fish. My son was pretty bummed out though. On the way back in, Pete decided to make a stop at a spot he knew at the entrance to the intercoastal to see if he could get one for my son. It was above and beyond what I would have expected and we ended up hooking a fish. My son got to reel in a 25lb baracuda and the experience was the highlight of our trip for him! I would definitely book with Good Hit again next time we are in Florida!

We shared a boat with 3 other people, and one person was really annoying, she wanted to fish all the fishes that took the bait and would not let others get a try and was also always yelling, so others did not get to enjoy the fishing as well, for example in the end when they had put three rods to the sea and that person had one rod and a fish took the bait on another rod she jumped straight away to that rod and two other people who had not get a chance to fish ware not able to catch.

I glad to take this fishing charter with GOOD HIT 3.0 we had a total of 5 fishing persons on board. Everyone caught a Mackerel and they were fighters and excellent size and then there the big shark caught by me and a beauty and thelast shark caught put up a fight for about 30-40 minutes and this was the monster, I give the ladies and guys the credit cause they did most of the reeling. I will also give a well done to Capitan Alex for professionalism he was great as a teacher and knowledge of the fishing area of the fish. I aslo which to say I chose this trip instead of the lower party boat cost for the attention that was given by Capitian Alex and the cost was well worth the trip .

It was above and beyond what I would have expected and we ended up hooking a fish. My son got to reel in a 25lb baracuda and the experience was the highlight of our trip for him!     We had a great fishing trip. We caught two bull sharks, a nurse shark and lost a kingfish. The fishing equipment was first class. The captain is very experienced and a cool guy. The trip is highly recommended. I booked another trip with him straight away.

    Hello fishing friends, Captain Mike here with Good Hit Sportfishing Hey there, it's Captain Mike from Good Hit Sportfishing with some January fishing news from Fort Lauderdale. While the rest of the world is experiencing freezing temperatures, we're lucky enough to have some of the warmest fishing areas in our region. This time of year, you can expect to target some red-hot fish, such as sailfish, mahi-mahi, blackfin tuna, snappers, sharks, Wahoo, and cobia. We've started the year strong with some impressive catches, including a cobia shark caught off the kite. This little guy put up a 40-minute fight on light tackle and was caught on a live goggle-eye. Amazingly, we've already seen a couple of mahi-mahi in attendance this January. Usually, we don't see these fish until the beginning of spring, but they're already showing up in the local area. Blackfin Tunas are also hitting the kite again, which is another fish that we don't expect until springtime. However, in Fort Lauderdale, we've already seen a couple of sizeable blackfin tuna. These fish are always a hit with our customers due to their acrobatics, delicious sushi-grade meat, and incredible light tackle fight. At GoodHit Sportfishing, we're always happy to fish for whatever our customers want. If you have a custom trip in mind and want to target a particular species, let us know. A sturdy fishing rod and reel with a heavy-duty line (at least 100b test) are recommended to handle the strength and size of these powerful creatures. Additionally, stout leaders made of steel or heavy fluorocarbon are necessary to prevent the sharp teeth of sharks from cutting your line. Live bait, such as mullet, bluefish, or ladyfish, is often preferred when shark fishing. If live bait is not available, fresh cut bait can also be effective. We will use strong hooks that can handle the jaw strength of sharks.
