These waters are home to White Bass, Catfish, Crappie, and more if you come at the right time of year. You'll target your catch by jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Trips with ZD Fishing Guide are great for kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Your vessel for the day is either a 22' Lowe Deck boat or an 18" Tracker V Hull. They have all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Zachary will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures.
Before coming aboard, it will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

All 3 of us had 2 lures each on our lines and we were literally catching 2 at a time while we were “jigging”. One time all 3 of us caught 2 fish each all at the same time! 6 fish at once! That was crazy fun. Captain Zach knows where the fish are! He worked so hard and took such good care of my Dad, “Pops”. He took care of all 3 of us but taking such good care of my Dad won my heart. I actually learned a ton and I’ve fished on and off my whole life. He had all of the equipment and then some. I know we’ll do this again. My husband is already talking about a corporate trip and our friends were so jelly they want us to take them too lol. We really had a great time and Captain Zach is low key hilarious so I was giggling the whole time. I could keep going but I think thats plenty. I’ll save some words for my next review. Thank you Captain Zach for making it so much fun!

If you want to talk, he's an interesting, intelligent and fun guy to interact with. The accuracy of his spots was insane! No breaks because we were catching fish non-stop. If we had 2 minutes without fish, he had us back on game within seconds. 5 star character, 5 star guide, we will return but only if we can get Zach again! Top notch!!!

Catch and Release Special den March 22, 2025 • 2 voksneTook my teenage son out for a quick fishing trip. Neither of us gave much experience but Zach made us feel right at home. We arrived and stepped right on his boat and we were off! He knew exactly where to go and put us right on top of white bass. He had the equipment ready and the technology to make us feel like career anglers. 3.5 hours later I had logged 61 white bass and 1 channel cat and my son pulled in 99 white bass and 1 channel cat!!!! Zach stayed busy keeping our lures ready and getting the fish off the hooks. He has a great personality and it felt like we were out on the lake with an old friend. If we end up in this area again we’ll definitely plan to book Zachary again. Not sure he (or anyone) can top the day he gave us today, but I know he’s capable and will give his customers his best. He even loaned my son his jacket to beat the early morning chill. Thanks Zach!

Not only did we catch our limit, but we had a ton of fun along the way. Zach was friendly, professional, and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. Made it somewhat difficult not to drift even with the anchor in the water but Zac was persistent on continuing to find the fish. Hit a packed, sweltering lake on the 4th of July with four of us. Honestly, with the holiday crowds, we just wanted a decent day. Zach gave us a great morning, hunting down about 25 keepers. But then he had a hunch to circle back to our very first stop. Bam. Instant chaos. Every single one of us got double-pulls at the exact same time. In a matter of minutes, Zach turned a "pretty good holiday weekend" into an absolute slaughter. If you want a guide who can read a lake like a book, book Zach. 10/10.

Had an awesome time fishing with Zach! He was professional without being boring. Super easy to get along with, great personality, and incredibly patient. We ended up catching over 50 catfish, which made for an unforgettable day on the water. Zach was prompt, had everything prepped and ready to go, and made the whole experience smooth and fun. 10/10 would book again and already planning to come back in the spring!
