Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters 

Captain Gary and first mate Joe are very helpful and kind, they taught me some crucial skills fishing with tuna and sharks. And we caught a 150lbs bluefin tuna on this trip, which broke my record for bft. And the crew even said that usually they caught at least three times than this size. Capitan and first mate tried so hard to put me on a fish, thanks a lot!

Our trip with Captain Gary on the Tuna Hunter was the best fishing trip I've ever been on. He and his mate were truly awesome. We caught Mackerel for bait on the way out which was a ton of fun on its own but also caught Haddock, Pollock, and Cod throughout the day. Superb table fair we enjoyed for dinner at the hotel restaurant. Once off shore we caught four huge blue sharks from eight to ten feet in length and 125 to close to 300 pounds and hooked up with two others! Then as if all that wasn't enough I then caught my dream of a lifetime a seven foot 150 pound Mako! Unbelievable day. Then just before heading in we had another huge bite and hooked up with the ultimate powerhouse, a giant Bluefin Tuna. After a long and grueling fight from all on board, we tagged and released the Bluefin which was over 800 pounds. This was truly an epic trip with a truly epic charter captain and crew. Gary and Ben did a great job getting to the fish and helping give us the pointers for their locations.

Everyone on the boat limited out. Had one fish on hook that was bitten by a shark and was able to watch. One of our crew hooked the shark and fought it for about 1/2 hour. Would highly recommend Gary and Tuna Hunter.

With 3 children and 3 adults we chartered with Tuna Hunter for Haddock fishing. After arriving at location we were quickly catchingt Haddock, Pollock, Cod and others. After a couple hours we decided to switch and see if we could catch some strippers. Captain Gary was very happy to comply with the request and we were quickly underway to catch the batefish. The children enjoyed catching Mackeral for bait, but catching the strippers required extreem effort on the part of Cpt. Gary's and his first mate, Ben. They both went beyond all expectations in acheiving the goal of ensuring everyone was catching at least one keeper, expecially the children. We cannot say enough as to how pleased we were with our choice of boat and crew for this first time charter for the family. Thanks to Cpt. Gary and Ben for a wonderful day on the water and making this family vacation special for all of us!!

My husband and I took an inshore fishing trip with Tuna Hunter and had a blast! Easily caught a dozen Striped Bass, too many I lost count! Captain Gary and First Mate Ben we’re great! Very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about techniques and marine life/wildlife during our trip. They were right there for us the entire time. Couldn’t have had a better trip!
