Captain Jason Burton is a true local, born and raised in Murrells Inlet, with over two decades of experience fishing the waters of South Carolina. His great talent for fishing allowed him to place and start winning tournaments at the age of 15. Vi hadde opprinnelig planlagt å fiske kystnært for å gi barna sin første opplevelse utenfor innløpet, men vinden var for sterk, så vi ble inne. Hayden var utrolig kunnskapsrik og den BESTE kapteinen! Han jobbet hardt for å gi oss den beste opplevelsen og sjansen til å fange fisk! Vi landet 5 store Redfish (fikk beholde 2) og 4 Flyndre! Mer enn nok til noen deilige fisketacos etterpå! Hayden renset og pakket fisken på slutten på null komma niks! Vi kommer definitivt til å dra ut med ham igjen og forhåpentligvis komme oss ut på det store havet neste gang! Hele bestillingsprosessen var flott, og vi hadde tilgang til direktemeldinger helt frem til turen. Kommunikasjonen var utmerket. 5 stjerner hele veien.

I’ve never seen charter boats operate the way this group did. Several boats worked together like a true brotherhood, communicating and coordinating to make sure every boat had a chance to get on fish. It wasn’t a one‑man operation; it was a community effort, and it made all the difference. Our captain, Kyle, was fantastic. He was not only running the boat but also actively training his first mate, Jackson. I was genuinely impressed by Kyle’s patience and the way he took the time to teach Jackson the ropes. In many places, the captain just drives, but Kyle was everywhere—coaching, managing lines, and setting an example of what hard work and good leadership look like. I don’t know what Jackson will choose to do in the years ahead, but the values he’s learning from Kyle are going to serve him well. As for the day itself, my husband, my grandson, and his two friends all caught fish, laughed, and made memories we’ll be talking about for years. It was fun, relaxed, and completely worth it. All in all, it was a great day on the water, and I’d highly recommend this charter to anyone looking for both a good time and a crew that truly works together.

Min datter hadde aldri vært på en båt eller fisket i havet før, og mannskapet vårt var intet mindre enn utrolig. De var veldig tålmodige og ivrige etter å gi henne og meg tips om hva vi skulle gjøre. De var svært profesjonelle og kunnskapsrike. Vi hadde det kjempegøy og vil aldri glemme tiden vi hadde sammen. Vi dro til så mange forskjellige steder for å prøve å fange noe. Vi endte opp med et par Flyndre, 2 blå krabbe, en paddefisk, en Malle, og en flaggermusrokke. Mens vi snakket med de andre båtene, bet det ingenting for dem. Det var en skikkelig opplevelse. Vi måtte kutte turen litt kort på grunn av den massive stormen som dukket opp, men profesjonaliteten og sikkerhetshensyn var perfekte. Vi kommer til å ringe og be om ham igjen neste år!

What’s the temperature starting to heat up our inshore bite has dramatically picked up. We are doing very very well on flounder, trout and Redfish. Starting to see bigger schools of flounder with better numbers in the Spanish are absolutely everywhere on the reef

Hot Redfish Bite today in shallow water

Had absolute blast today chasing the schools of Redfish in shallow water as we got to the lower tide started seeing some Redfish push and absolutely jumped on some really good size ones anywhere from 16 inches all the way up to 30. It was a really good bite caught them on a mixture of live bait artificial shrimp. Now is the time to get on these fish before it gets super hot.

Spanish mackerel on fire on the reef

Our Spanish mackerel have showed up on the reef very very thick getting lots of numbers and some bigger ones. redfish and flounder bite is really starting to pick up in the INLET as well. This is kind of cool cause we can go out to the reef and get some Spanish and then turn around and come back and get some flounder and Redfish all on a four hour trip.

Well is spring time is upon us and we are getting beautiful 75° days. The fishing is just as hot on both the nearshore reef and back in the INLET. Flounder bite has picked up dramatically this week with the full moon. We’re getting a good amount of redfish inshore and on the nearshore reefs, the Spanish mackerel bite has just picked up still getting some great sheep pad and black drum as well. It doesn’t get much better than this time of year spring and fall is always my favorite. Lots of fish moving up and down the COAST book your Charter today come out make some memories that’ll last a lifetime.

As our water temperature has started to warm up with the temperatures, the fishing has gone from good to absolutely amazing. Our big flounder run is underway. Lots of numbers with a few big ones mixed in and our red fish bite has picked up dramatically as we are catching Redfish from 14 inches up and over 30 inches on the jetties in shallow waters. They seem to be everywhere. Also, with the full moon, we’ve been catching lots of speckled trout and some black drum. on the nearshore reefs the sheepbead bite is still hot. We’re getting some summer trout mixed in with some good sea bass, and we are starting to see our first batch of sharks as well. There is no better time to go fishing than the spring. I would book your Charter today and let’s go fishing.

Big Black Drum and lots of Sheephead

Captain Hayden on Salty Tailz has had an absolutely hot hand this week, catching black drum and lots of sheephead on the nearshore reefs. The best part of our coastline is most of our reefs are only 3 to 5 miles in the ocean so you don’t have to go real far to get on this type of action. Inshore Fishing report he is starting to heat up as our flounder bite has just started as well. Lots of schools are redfish with a little bit cooler water still around and we’re starting to see some nice speckled trout overall excellent time of year to book a charter. With spring break and Easter coming up this is Prime Time to take the family out fishing and enjoy your time here in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.
