As a child, Captain Heath Stone spent his time outdoors either fishing or hunting. Fishing became a passion of his and he loves sharing his experiences with others. Capt. Heath specializes in Redfish, Tarpon, Snook, Flounder, and Trout fishing. He also has a 'client first' mentality that is much appreciated by his guests and will make you remember your trip with him forever.

He put us on the scallops, and we were able to catch our limit! The boat was comfortable, clean, and had plenty of room for our family of four. Heath was patient, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. Toward the end of our trip, a storm rolled in. Rather than rushing back to the boat ramp, Heath made our safety and comfort his top priority. He navigated us away from the storm and waited until it was safe to head back. Even though we returned later than expected, he never rushed us and still took the time to clean all of our scallops. We couldn’t have asked for a better first scalloping experience. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable guide who genuinely cares about his guests, I highly recommend booking a trip with Heath. We will definitely be back!

He even got up at 5am to confirm our trip was good to go before we got on the road to drive over. We found quite a bit of scallops at our second stop. Heath never made us feel rushed, we always felt safe, had fun and didn’t have to clean the scallops!

Captains communication was excellent before and during the trip. We will be booking a fishing trip next with him. Would definitely recommend. Remember to wear a UV shirt while scalloping.

Charlotte Harbor Fishing Report

It has been a roller coaster ride fishing in Charlotte harbor this year. The spring proved to be outstanding and when we moved into summer we had one of the worst red tide we have seen in years. Summer proved difficult to find clean water and keep bait alive but we found ways to get it done. Now we are into fall and the fishing has been pretty good. The water has cleared up and there is plenty of life in it. On my last few trips I have targeted redfish and have had pretty good results and seeing good numbers of redfish. In my scouting I am also pleased in the number of snook I am seeing and the size of snook I am seeing. I am seeing small snook as well as big breeder snook and again seeing good numbers of both. If you are planning on fishing the Charlotte Harbor or Boca Grand area don't hesitate or be reluctant our waters are clear. Charlotte Harbor Fishing Report

We are catching a variety of fish on our charters (snook,mangrove snapper,jacks and trout) are all typical catches right now. Red tide is still around but the fish are biting around Bull Bay and Turtle Bay with no sign of dead fish. As we move forward through August and into September I am hopeful the water will start to clear up and the bite will get even better. So if you have the desire to fish now is a good time to get out and catch some. Keep in mind Charlotte Harbor was hit hard by red tide I highly encourage catch and release. Fishing in Charlotte Harbor

It has been tough dealing with the red tide here in the harbor but still catching a variety of fish. Bait has been the biggest problem. It has been plentiful to get but keeping it alive crossing the harbor can be tough. Besides that the bite has been pretty good. We have been catching snook, trout,mangrove snapper and flounder. Don't let the red tide keep you in call me and catch some fish.

Red tide and Fishing in Boca Grande and

All the talk in southwest Florida is about the red tide and how it is affecting our sea life. It has done a lot of damage for sure and it is still here in areas around Boca Grande. On the positive side there is still some bait around and fish to catch. I have had to change the way I do things but still catching fish on every trip. On a recent trip I had to bait up twice due to running through an area with red tide and it killed my bait. I did what any other captain would do and picked up my clients and went to catch more bait. Although I don't like to catch bait with clients on board it had to be done. They were very understanding of the situation and very helpful with the process of catching bait. When we finally got to fishing it turned out to be an epic day. We caught a lot of fish and 6 different species including a 35 inch snook. I would say it was a successful day. So if you are wanting to fish the Boca Grande area you can with success. Till next time tight lines my friends.
