A renowned Musky and Walleye guide, Capt. Marc has had clients from the U.S.A, Germany, England, France, and Canada. He's a passionate angler and has won many plaudits for his work in conservation and preservation of some of the most prestigious fish in the St. Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers. A professional guide for over 20 years, he's landed at least 40 fish bigger than 50 inches. Capt. Marc collaborates in several MNRF and OMNR projects and studies concerning Muskies and Walleyes, and is a long term educator in the preservation, conservation and safe handling of fish. He was President of Muskies Canada inc., for a year in the early 2000s, and is a founding Spearhead of the first Muskies Canada chapter in Quebec, so there aren't many more qualified guides out there.

Full day trip with captain Marc Thorpe

    Heldagstur – Walleye/Bass • 2 voksne

My girlfriend and I had an awesome day on the water with Marc. We are both beginner anglers, and feel very fortunate to have learned from a tremendous guide of Marc’s caliber. He taught us a lot and was pleasant to be with. My gf and I each landed a 48” Musky. When you go with Marc, be prepared to fish hard, it pays off. I’d highly recommend Marc Thorpe

    Musky fishing at Elite Level

    2-dagers tur – Overnatting

I've been blessed to fish many of the legendary musky waters , often with Hall of Fame anglers. No other experience comes close to my yearly trips to the Ottawa. Certainly not the wilderness experience of Long Legged Lake or a party place like LSC or Eagle . I'm at the stage of life where fishing trophy waters , where the fish actually bite, trumps scenery . Always find the apartment comfortable and equipped functionally. Food selection should suit anyone . True the stairway is steep ! I'm old with one good arm and one good leg . I manage it just fine. Anyone reading this that decides to fish with Marc go with an open mind . Be prepared to see first hand so much what you learned ready musky magazines is myth. Oh ! And in the cradle water shots are the best thing ever.

Musky fishing trip with Marc Thorpe

    2-dagers tur – Overnatting

I have been fishing with Marc for many years now. Put simply: Marc really knows his stuff and has access to some of the best Musky water in North America (well, that means the world). He works very hard to get you onto fish and provides superb advice on how to find, hook, land and properly release fish. You have to work hard too, but the rewards are worth it. Marc also knows how to find BIG fish. REALLY BIG fish. I and my fishing partners have had a lot of fun fishing with Marc, and learned a lot in the process. His prices are good, especially given that food and lodging are included, and equipment provided (boat and tackle, if needed) are top notch. Thx for all the experiences, Marc. Andy H.

The Queen of the St. Lawrence

    4 Dagers Tur – Overnatting

I've been fishing with Marc once a year since 2006. I've been there for the casting bite and later in the fall for the trolling bite. Marc has always been able to put me on fish no matter the time of year and weather. In October 2014 he put me on a once in a lifetime fish 58" while trolling. In my opinion there's no better place in the world to have a shot at a fish like that. Look at his record, he catches fish like that every season. He's great to spend a day in the boat with as well. I've also caught several low 50s and plenty of other fish. If you like to catch muskies he'll put you on them and have a real opportunity for a true giant.

Monster Muskies

Jul 1, 2018 • Terrebonne
Chad Sandy and I just returned from another amazing trip with Marc Thorpe. We have been fishing with Marc since 2005, and every year we are always amazed at how special the fishery is in Montreal! We have seen so many big fish in the net over the years and this year was no exception. We generally spend 4 days in the boat however this year with the 4th of July holiday we were only able to do 3 days. On the first day of our trip it was unseasonably warm, however we had a nice breeze and the fish were very cooperative throughout the day, we boated 8 fish with several in the mid 40’s. The next day we lost our wind and the air temps soared well into the 90’s and it was a grind the entire day. By 3pm we had managed to net 3 fish, and we were starting to question if we should stay on the water or call it day. Marc made the call and we all agreed to grind away at a couple more spots before calling it. At the last spot of the day the Queen of Muskies decided to show up on what was very likely the last cast of the day. The pattern that we put together this day was that the fish were going on bucktails in a very specific size and color made by **hidden content** As we worked the last spot of the day the Queen of all Muskies decided that she wanted to eat at boat side! After 13 years of fishing the Ottawa and St L with Marc and Chad, I’m ecstatic to join the ranks of those that have boated 58” in the years past! With water temps in the mid 70’s and Air in the 95+ we got a couple of great shots both out of and in the water. The next morning my luck continued, in the first couple of casts of the day using the same Handlebarz Bucktail we boated a very nice 51”, and later that afternoon on the same bait I boated another 51”. For me personally this was certainly my best trip based on the length of the fish that I caught, however over the years Chad and I have had several trips that yielded multiple fish in the 51” to 58” class. Muskie fishing is a ton of work regardless if you are with a guide or going at is solo, however If you’re looking for an opportunity to spend time on water that has fish up to 58” I would highly recommend that you reach out to Marc. I can promise you that he will push you to fish harder than you thought possible, but in the end you will thank him when you’re holding that fish of a lifetime! Thanks Marc.
