Captain Luke has fished the waters around Mount Desert Island since he got his first skiff at 5 years old. As the son of a lobsterman, he grew up on a small island off the coast of Maine that can only be accessed by boat. He has fished the waters from Maine to Florida: 'I have fished my whole life, from lobsters to Giant Tunas and everything in between. The ocean is where I feel most at home'.

    Et fantastisk 8-timers fiskeeventyr — Masse fisk

    Heldagstur – Dyphavsfiske • 4 voksne

    For en fantastisk fisketur! Vi tilbrakte åtte timer ute på vannet og hadde en utrolig opplevelse fra start til slutt. Vi fanget masse Pollock, Torsk, cusk, Makrell (Atlanterhavet), Acadian Redfish, og til og med en Akkar! Kapteinen var fantastisk – veldig oppmerksom gjennom hele turen og sjekket alltid på oss, hjalp til og sørget for at vi var der fisken var og fikk napp. Vi dro definitivt ikke hjem tomhendte!

    Sikk en fantastisk dag med fiske og sightseeing for hele familien vår. Kaptein Luke lyttet til hva vi ønsket å gjøre og klarte å få plass til alt. Selkikking og øyutforskning for kona mi og et par timer med fiske for barna og meg. Selv om vi ikke fikk noen monstre slik vi håpet, fanget vi et stort utvalg av fisk og noen vi aldri hadde sett før. Jeg anbefaler på det sterkeste Kaptein Luke til alle som er interessert i å dra ut på vannet utenfor Acadia.

    Vi bestiller en fisketur nesten hver gang vi reiser. I løpet av de 25+ årene vi har dratt på fisketurer, er dette uten tvil en av de beste. Båten var komfortabel, hadde alt vi trengte, og kapteinen sørget for vann og snacks. Det beste med denne turen var Luke, kapteinen. Han er kunnskapsrik, vennlig, og gikk ut av sin vei for å sørge for at vi gjorde så mye (eller så lite) som vi ønsket under turen vår. Bildene er av middagen vi laget så snart vi kom hjem.

    Great Fishing Day!

    Luke is a very experienced boat Captain and fisherman to say the least! Luke is very accommodating thru-out the trip and makes sure your having a good ti me and are comfortable doing it. We caught plenty of fish to share ! So, if your thinking of booking a fishing trip I definitely recommend Captain Luke Higgins. Dont miss it! The highlight of your Florida Keys fishing adventure!

    Caught a 6’ Nurse Shark today!

    What a treasure to find Capt Luke and his boat nearby our hotel wirh plenty if parking. i had mistakenly booked the wrong date but Luke fixed it. Great communication back and forth while we watched the windy conditions we had forcasted. Comfortable boat handled the waves very well. I highly recommend using Capt Luke for your fishing charters, very reasonable and capable. My 25 year old son is an avid fisherman and was thrilled to catch a 6’ nurse shark, along with numerous other fish. We’ll be back! 🐟😎 Paula and Max

The tuna and mahi bite was really good on this short trip, i haven't been getting out very much due to the weather, but we bailed through some for a couple of hours and had nearly nonstop action one we got on the fish. This weeks weather looks pretty good after Tuesday so let's get out and catch some fish!

The wind has held us in for most of the week, but next week looks incredible. Mahi are around and the king mackerel bite has been great and since nice yellowtails on the reef with some other variety coming in.

Patch reef fishing is good

It has been breezy, but we have been able to get out on some of the inner reefs. The 13-14 inch yellowtail bite is good with some other fish mixed in. The weather this coming week is looking better and I'm expecting to see some good mahi/dolphin fishing on the troll.

As nice as it usually is in the keys, we have had a year of the cold for the past couple of weeks which has thrown this fishing off. BUT, the weather is getting better and the fish are biting again! The wahoo bite had been pretty good, the tuna bite was great today and we even picked up this nice 30lb African pompano. The patch reefs seem to be coming back to life and I expect them to continue to get better. The wind forecast for the foreseeable future is good and it is a great time to book a trip!

Florida Keys Fishing at it's Best

Yesterday was a great day on the water. The fish were biting, the weather was beautiful! It was a perfect day for trolling. Wahoo are biting and it's always a fun fight! We caught a couple wahoo, some mahi and blackfin as well.
