    Anna Maria Fishing

    Fishing with Captain Andy on the “Florida Man” fishing trip was a perfect way to spend a few hours with family and friends. There was 5 of us on this awesome nearshore AND inshore fishing day! We caught sea trout, snapper, grouper, and of course an Anna Maria favorite… Snook!! For 7 hours we caught fish! I highly recommend Captain Andy if you are looking to book a fishing trip in Anna Maria! Take it from some ol’ Carolina boys… We’ll be back!

    Catching not just fishing

    Andy had us on the fish the whole time. We got 4-5 different species. He also really knows his birds. We saw dolphins and manatee. The kids loved it, and Andy was great with them, calling ahead to make sure he had the right sized life jackets. There was a time or two that all four of us had a fish on the line and he ran around like a mad man, rebaiting our hooks and landing fish. He cleaned and filleted our fish. We kept some sea trout and made ceviche that night, and seatrout piccata. Delicious. His pricing was great and he was responsive to texts and even called me as we walked towards the boat, so we didn't have to look for him. He was also 10 minutes early. Great guide

    Wonderful morning on the water catching fish!

    Had a wonderful morning fishing wirh Captian Andrew! Well organized and knows rhe local spots to get fish on! Went with a friend and our teenage sons. The Captian was super patient and answerd the dozens (hundreds?) of questions the boys had. Everyone enjoyed the trip, caught at least 5 species of fish and we took home enough speckled trout to feed the rest of the family when we got home! Thanks Captian!

    Snook on the hook!

    Captain Andy was excellent! He put us on snook immediately after a run over Palma Sola Bay. He already had the livewell full of baits and ready to go…. Texted me at 7:00 and said if we were ready, so was he…. We had a grandson, two son in laws and myself ready to fish. Captain Andy kept our hooks baited and ready for bites. Andy’s boat is top shelf with a comfortable ride and plenty of room for everyone to cast. Got back to the dock and now its time for a nap! thanks again to Captain Andy and Saltbound Fishing Charters! Brad, Major, Blake and Jeff

    Captain Andy is excellent.

    We chose Captain Andy based on his coast guard background and he did not disappoint. Our family is a group of experienced fishermen and have been with many fishing guides. Andy was super attentive and knowledgeable and put us in fish during our entire half day charter. Highly recommended and we will be using him again on our next visit.

Reds Schooling, Snook & Trout Action

Aug 19, 2026 • Holmes Beach
As we get closer to fall temperatures the bite is heating up. Reds are starting to school up and they are giving opportunities in shallow waters. Larger snook are mixed in making their way back to the mangroves after spawning. Trout are still biting on the grass flats on deeper edges.

Gator trout

Dec 24, 2025 • Holmes Beach
The trout bite has picked up as the water temperature has started to drop. Catching trout on deeper grass flats next to channels with moving water has been key. Redfish are steady, fish are tending to be on the smaller side with some really nice fish mixed in. Snook are still around, mixed in the with trout and reds on bars, oyster points and potholes.

Sunset slams!!

Aug 5, 2025 • Holmes Beach
Started the late afternoon session working some of the deeper oyster bars picking up redfish as they were being pushed out by the dropping tide. Large white baits with their tails removed seemed to be the ticket in the higher water temperature. Then shifting to the back county working deep mangrove cuts for snook and juvenile tarpon to finish out the trip. It’s always fun to get the schools fired up with live chum. They definitely put on a show.

Shallow Water Slammers!!!!

Well that summer time shallow water bite is happening. Reds and snook are pushing troughs alongside mangroves and oysters. Fish these areas when the tide is pulling water across them. Either with large white baits or with pin fish with their tails and heads cut off. Fishing baits slow with the water temps be high is key. P

Summer time slams

Jul 11, 2025 • Holmes Beach
The trout bite on the deeper grass flats has beem fast and furious. This has been putting plenty of fish for dinner in the cooler. The snapper bite on the rocks and near shore reefs are producing as well. And our summer time snook bite is fantastic early in the morning on the moving tide.

Spreckled trout blow out!

May 5, 2025 • Holmes Beach
The speckled trout bite has been absolutely amazing over the last few weeks. Some really large females are being caught and released. As well as limits of keepers for dinner. The redfish are holding on the oyster bars and along the mangroves.
