Your Fishing Charter

Panama Fresh Water Gamboa Fishing welcomes you to a lake adventure out of Gamboa, Panama. Get ready to chase lovely fish, observe white-face monkeys, howler monkeys, Geoffroy's tamarins, and a lot more! Not only you’ll have fun fishing but you’ll also see and learn a lot about the local flora and fauna. In addition, you’ll see transiting ships in the Panama Canal and Chagres River. Join Captain Miguel Gomez will make sure you enjoy your trip and have the best chance of landing a catch. The waters are calm, so seasickness shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re comfortable with wildlife and getting wet, think no further and book today!

The boat you’ll use is a restored 24’ fiberglass locally-made classic boat powered by a 55 HP Yamaha engine. It can fit 4 guests, uses VHF radio for navigation, and has got a livewell to provide live bait. It also features an ice box with ice so you can store your catch.

You and the captain will be targetting Peacock Bass, White Seabass, Tilapia, Jack Crevalle, and Snook by trolling, spinning, and popping on light tackle. You’re welcome to keep the fish you catch as well as bring kids on your trip.

Captain Miguel provides standard fishing rods, reels, and tackle along with lures and/or minnows. You’re welcome to bring your own equipment, just tell the captain before the trip. In that case, know that poppers for Peacock Bass work fine. You’re also covered for licenses, so just bring any snacks and drinks you want.

The taxi / Uber from your hotel to the Gamboa public dock shouldn’t cost more than $30 and it lasts for 45 minutes, so make sure you leave your hotel in time. If needed, I can also organize the transport for you with a third-party company as of $100 total.

Enjoy 4 hours of fishing for Peacock Bass and occasionally Snook or Tarpon. You'll have a unique experience for a day tour excursion and the captain can also combine the tour with a short stop at the Monkey Island on your way back after fishing. The meeting point will be the Gamboa public dock at 7:00 a.m., which is a good time to fish and explore the fauna at the same time.
