We were really disappointed by the experience we received.  The full day was VERY EXPENSIVE and NOT what we expected. I had researched the area and seen lakes with a limit of 6 per day.  We told Mike in advance that we were interested in catching more than just trout. He took us to a lake that only allowed TWO trout and also stated that the lake was slow the day before.  We trolled about the very small lake in circles and paid OVER $1000 to catch 4 trout.  Possibly the most expensive trout in Alaska.  WASTE OF MONEY. We took charter boats out elsewhere for only $650 and caught 18 fish (40 lbs after being fileted).

My adult sons and I spend a half morning fishing and floating down the Kenai river.  Caleb was a joy to be with and a wonderful guide.  He rowed us to sites along the river where fish were biting and gave us useful advice on how to land the fish.  The scenery was wonderful.  Besides the fish (trout and char) we saw bald eagles, a large bee’s nest, and a family of Merganser ducks.  The time went by too fast, and the July morning temperature in the low 50’s was unexpected.  But overall, this was a great experience, and I would do it all again.

So let me start by saying that I decided to take a 7 year old and a 9 year old salmon fishing in Alaska, not my smartest decision, but when I tell you that Caleb was the most accommodating and understanding guide it is an understatement. They have knowledge to put you on fish, great equipment and what I think was a brand new boat, but despite all of that Caleb took time helping my boys while my brother in law and I fished. He was very understanding of how they needed more attention. It doesn’t get much better than this. We caught salmon but even if we didn’t get a bite it was worth it. I just only hope that they aren’t booked up when we want to come back, because Jason’s Guide service has all my, and anyone I ever talk to, business. I really can’t say enough about how they taught this Southern boy a little about hospitality. Well done.

Though cold and rainy, my son, my nephew and I had a great experience on the upper Kenai with Caleb guiding us. The drift boat and gear was meticulously cared for and Caleb got us on the fish, both Rainbows and Dolly Varden. We were between the Sockeye salmon runs. A great experience that I will likely do again. Thanks Jason and Caleb.

You can never go wrong with Guide Caleb.  Works very hard to make sure the Experience YOU are looking for is fulfilled.  Besides the great fishing - the adventure provides great scenery and wildlife.  Top notch equipment and attention to detail.  Highly Recommended!
