Our captain and mate were excellent. They knew these waters unfortunately the red tide was in and didn’t catch much but was an awesome trip.

How do you spell epic in Spanish? We spell it Quepos Fishing! My family of six very inexperienced salt-water fishermen (this was our first salt-water fishing trip), spent an amazing day offshore with the crew of the Moonwalker. Captain Marcos, Rudy & Jose worked tirelessly to make our special day on the blue water one we will remember forever.  We caught blue marlin, beautiful mahi-mahi, and finished our day with an onslaught of yellow-fin tuna while watching the dolphins feeding and frolicking right next to the boat. The crew was friendly, professional and accommodating. With a freezer full of fish and heads full of memories we watched the sun set as Captain Marcos pointed the bow toward Marina Pez Vela. We’re gringos from the mountains of Colorado. We know very little about rain forests or oceans or the Costa Rican way of life, but at the end of this day there was only one thing to say, “Pura Vida.”

The day started off slow as the billfish were definitely not biting despite a hard working crew. The captain then turned his efforts to finding tuna where he had some great success.  He found birds and a school of spinner dolphins working an area and he said there was a school of tuna below.  Boy was he correct.  We hooked up a 58” tuna that weighed 130#.  That fish alone took 40 minutes to boat.  We landed one more tuna from that action before the birds and dolphin dissipated.  After a brief boat relocation, the captain then found another group of birds and school of dolphin.  From that area we landed a 90# tuna and several smaller.  Everyone in the boat caught fish and we had a great time.  We will fish with Capt. Alex the next time we are in Costa Rica.

Amazing day trip with the moonwalker crew. Couldn’t recommend them more! Caught a blue marlin, sailfish and 6 tunas.

Lauren and I booked the full day offshore trip with Moon Walker II. Capt Ezekiel and Johnny were excellent from the very start. We each caught our first sailfish and hooked a blue marlin that jumped up and snapped the line!!! They provided cold beer, fresh fruit, sodas, water and snacks. Great trip all around and i would highly recommend!! Will definitely return and book them again! Pura Vida!
