- Captain Matthew Champion moved to Destin in 1987. His father took him fishing here and he knew fishing is what he would be doing for the rest of his life. In 1993, he got his first job on a party boat. Throughout his career, Capt. Matt has worked on party boats, commercial vessels fishing for snapper and grouper, and private charters. He caught so many fish in his life that he doesn't need to catch another one, but seeing the happiness in his customers' eyes while fishing is everything to him. Captain Matt has placed and won several tournaments, including five, 1st place finishes and one, 2nd place finish in the 2016 Destin deep sea Fishing Rodeo.
