We believe we would have caught more fish if I had not agreed to two schedule changes by the captain. They also Used some of our time to catch bait. Others did not.  The boat tried hard to catch what we did but we ran out of time.  Only had total of 3.5 hours of 5 scheduled.

Thanks for your review. We tried to schedule the trip the best that would fit everyone’s schedule and for good fishing.  The conditions in Tampa Bay are difficult sometimes in the spring time due to the high winds that often pickup after noon. I’m sure you remember the ride back across the bay was very bumpy. I did not want to wait until it was unbearable for you so I called the trip at the 4 hour mark. Half day trips range from 4 to 5 hours.  Fishing Booker should specify this on the listing.

Catching bait during a fishing trip is common. We try to catch bait before most of our trips, however it was on the way to the fishing spot and bait was plentiful. We did get you on a good snook bite, even though the thick algae grass made things difficult. Many fish were busting around the boat. Several fish were caught, and some were missed. One of the factors in the bite was that there was so much snotty algae grass blooming the live sardines would get swamped and covered.

All in all though a good day of fishing. Thanks for choosing us to take you.

The fishing and crew were excellent. The crew made it a point to be helpful, courteous and professional. The Captain found a good spot to fish and hooked us up (pun intended). While my son and I were catching fish the Captain and mate were casting and handing us reels ready to be reeled in. We could not catch fast enough. The most important part is the captain and mate made sure we had fun. Will do again.

Guys, you made our day!
Planned a trip with my teenage boys to fish offshore. The Captains busted their backsides to get us on Kings, but they weren’t cooperating. No worries! We went to a few reefs and were hooked up the rest of the day. Great fishing! Caught numerous species and even took some meat home. I believe we even ran out of bait, and we had a ton of it too. Bent rods for hours. Doubles and triples. Look for us next year guys. Had a blast. Thank your for helping with the memories that I was after for me and my boys.

This was our 2nd trip to Tampa It took me 2 years to find the right fishing charter and it was worth it .Not only was it the best priced charter in the area it was all personal just us on the boat. We caught 7 different types of fish and lots of them.  Captain Scott was great he kept everyone on the fish and kept the lines baited nothing better than a great day on the fish.  In the end this was the best fishing trip ever!!!!  If you have kids or just have the fishing fever Captain Scott and Captain Joe are Your best bet for being on the fish.

This was our first ever fishing charter and it was much more than we ever expected. Captain Scott treated us like friends. Not knowing anything about saltwater fishing made our overall experience with Captain Scott even better.  Captain Scott made time with each one of us and explained how to fish and for what type of fish we were after. Our overall experience was awesome and would highly recommend HFF to anyone. My best advice is to watch their YouTube videos.

Joe and Scott made a great team to serve up a fantastic day of fishing, whether we were island hopping targeting Snook, running and gunning for Spanish Mackerel or dock bombing for Grouper or the occasional Egret (long story, ask Joe) We had a tremendous day and the gear and bait were right there. No waiting on stuff to be rigged and a first class ride on their 20’ boat (Almost new too!)

We strive to provide a great trip that provides big value for the dollar. We hope you can get back down this fall for the King Mackerel run. Keep in touch!

Both Capt Joe and Capt Scott were fantastic. From the start this trip was about what my son and I wanted and Head First delivered. We started fishing in the bay which was a blast. Knowing we wanted to try catching a variety of fish Capt Joe was happy to switch gears and go to the backcountry. I came out with an inshore slam and my son caught the big cobia of the day. With the value of the dollar getting smaller and smaller the memories provided by the Head First team are priceless!

I had a great time fishing with Capt Joe and Scott. We caught some bait and then headed straight to the fish. As soon as we got to the Mangroves we started catching Snook. I was very impressed with how quickly they found the fish. We continued to catch fish the entire time we were out. A great day I will never forget! I will definitely go fishing with the guys from Head First the next time I’m in the area. I’m already thinking about what kind of fish to go after next time out!!
