Background
I have been fishing for Trout, Redfish, and Flounder for over thirty years. I started in New Orleans fishing Lake Ponchartrain as a teenager using lures. I lived just a few blocks from the lake and managed to fish almost every day, which began the obsession of saltwater fishing. I moved to Texas in the seventies and began fishing the Galveston Bay system in the mid eighties. I have been guiding since 1994 when I got my Coast Guard captains license, a requirement to be able to guide saltwater fishing. I guided part-time until 2001 then went full time. I have a passionate love for fishing, respect for the resource and the environment and thoroughly enjoy guiding. Guiding is so rewarding as every day I get to meet people who are in a good mood, excited and are ready to have fun and all of this takes place on the beautiful waters of Galveston Bay. I wrote articles for several years for the Gulf Coast Connection when Gene Baker owned it, as well as wrote for Texas Saltwater Angler magazine
Techniques
I fish with artificial lures and have for over 40 years for Trout, Reds, and Flounder using lures from soft plastic swimbaits, to slow sinking plugs and topwaters. My fishing is either wadefishing or drifting from the boat. Nothing is more rewarding and exciting than chasing these bay fish using artificial lures.
