This was a VERY disappointing trip.  I booked the charter and contacted him once asking about catching grouper.  He said that would be a longer trip.  He did not ask if I wanted to change my booking.  Later I contacted him about adding people to the trip.  I had originally booked for 4 but thought that I might have 6 go.  He replied that it would be tight but it could be done.  On the day if the trip it turned out that only four went which was very good.  The boat is Not big enough for 6.  We were supposed to leave at 7:00 am.  He did not show up.  We called him and he said that I had not contacted him and he thought I had backed out.  He showed up at about 7:35 and eventually got the boat in the water and us loaded at about 8:10.  We then proceeded to drive back and forth in the river while he caught bait.  That took about 45 minutes.  It was now close to 9:00 am and we had not even started fishing.  I had told him at the dock that we would like to catch some redfish and he seemed put out about that but took us around to a spot.  He handed out rods and asked if we wanted right or left handed rods.  He gave no other instructions about how to catch red fish.  We caught a lot of crabs that took our bait.  The captain hooked a large redfish and gave the rod to me and I realed it in.  That was fun.  He moved to another spot close by and my niece caught a 19 inch redfish.  The captain was quickly catching fish and throwing them back.  He caught two undersize reds and other stuff.  He never gave us tips for catching anything.  After the 19 inch redfish he decided we were not going to catch anything else there so he moved us to another spot.  My niece caught a speckled trout that she kept.  No one else on the boat was catching anything else but crabs.  He then took us out by the bridge where there were other boats.  They were catching white trout and we started catching some also.  We all caught a lot of baby bull sharks which we could not keep but we also caught about 20 white trout.  The captain made the comment that if we had been there earlier we would gave caught a lot more but that I had said I wanted to catch redfish and he had to try.  We were never in water over about 6 feet deep.  A friend of mine took his grandson out around St George and caught a 30 lb. black drum.  He only had one small bag of ice in his ice chest and he should have at least had water for everyone on board.  We brought our own snacks and drinks.  We even shared with him.  The captain was catching fish and again did not give any tips on how to catch the white trout.  He tried to be funny at times but he was never a good host and give tips or encourage us when we caught something.  Again, we were all very disappointed in his manner.  We got back to the dock about 12 noon.
This was the time that was stated in the booking, but since we did not even leave the river and begin to go out to fish until 9 am, I thought we got very cheated in our time.  When we got back to the dock, he did not lay out the fish so we could take pictures with them.  He just dumped them in our ice chest and took our money and left.  He gave me some of his cards in case we wanted to use him again.  NO CHANCE IN THAT HAPPENING!!!  I would not recommend him to anyone.

My sons and I had a great time fishing the bay. Came home with 55 trout, great day!
