Went fishing on Sunday, June 18, 2017

The captain appeared to be sick as hell and apparently Sunday’s was his day off but because fishingbooker booked it, he still showed up and his mate worked his butt off the whole time. The only thing really lacking was food but it does say snacks only for 6 hour trip. We had ritz snack packs, beer, soda and water. So you may want to bring food if you want more than that for the 6 hour trip. We caught a barracuda, a small tuna, a mahi mahi (worth keeping) and a good size tuna head. By the time we pulled it into the boat, a shark had removed the body :0

Our first impression was poor, no coffee, no water, no snacks (the entire trip)
The crew knew how to fish however they were not friendly at all and corrected our 4 person party all day in a rude way. They thought we did not speak Spanish but we did and kept that our secret. They talked about us all day with rude comments we kept to ourselves. We hooked up on a 10’-4” Blue Marlin so that made things much better! BUT they constantly corrected us when we were dead tired taking turns reeling in for 4 hours. They charged us for an additional hour and we were fine with that but when we came to dock , they would not help us with the fish and seemed to want the trophy fish for themselves.
We all had a good day dispite the crew only because of our enormous catch.
I do not recommend this crew if you want to have a good time or have any service, drinks or snacks. We were lucky hooking up with a trophy fish in September, so who knows… You may get lucky too :-)

We are very sorry that you feel the need to give us a bad review after the monumental feat of catching a 350-pound Marlin that resulted from a four-hour battle with an unprecedented 20-pound weight line.
Let me comment on the issues as they are addressed in your complaint to Fishing Booker. We are a fishing charter, we stock the boat with a refrigerator full of beverages and chips. (Upon the arrival of your party, two of the ladies were served water. This was before the mate’s hand were dirtied by fish bait and before everyone got busy catching the fish. The beverages and chips are there for our customers to help themselves. We do not serve coffee, however, any beverages or snack can be requested at the time that you book your trip.
We spent four hours catching the record Marlin. During this time the Captain was driving, the ship mate or guide was assisting with the fishing, as is their job. There is no one assigned to serving beverages and snacks, the two employees were working on making the catch possible.
We are sorry if you were offended by the repeated instructions on handling the equipment properly. You were handling the equipment in a manner that could easily have damaged or lost it. Our instruction in English were being ignored. Perhaps had you not kept the fact that you spoke Spanish a secret, we might have had better luck communicating in Spanish.
We apologize if we offended you, however, it was very frustrating being ignored. It was fortunate that the equipment and line were both brand new and held up under the misuse and extreme weight. It is sad that you did not speak to us of your concerns at the time, instead chose this venue to voice your displeasure.

The captain and crew were friendly and helpful. The boat is immaculate and pretty up-to-date. The weather was great but the bite was slow. That’s why they call it fishing and not catching! We would go back fishing with him again if we’re in the area.

This was my nieces first offshore fishing trip, i had told Capt. Louis this he went out of his way to make it a great first trip for them. the 1st mate (Eddie) was first rate very hard working and nice to the girls.
plenty of food and drinks on board. after we docked i asked capt. if he would filet our catch and recommend a local restaurant. He did that and more he walked us to the Taxi and told the driver where to take us. the Restaurant was perfect. GREAT TRIP

Had a great time, Capt Luis and Chucky were great, even gave us an extra free hour. Only 2 bites, one catch (8lb Mahi Mahi) that’s fishing…

It was an amazing day, the And took us out about an hour offshore and within 45 minutes we hooked into and caught a 250 pound blue Marlin. The captain and his first mate were very professional and made sure that we had A great time! We will definitely be going on the Bandidas again when we go back to Cozumel.

Ready to go as soon as we got there, friendly hard working crew, knowledgable of local conditions and techniques, captain was helpful and focused, vessel and accoutrements in great condition, reasonably good success in less than pristine conditions. Want to go back in April when the big fish are migrating. Would definitely use Luis again.

We went out on july 20th, fishing wasn’t good that day, we only caught one keeper, but its fishing, you can never tell. The other boats weren’t catching anything either. Snorkeling was good. My problem was that we didn’t have any way of telling time because we left our phones at the hotel, so it was only when we got in the taxi did we realize that we got shorted 2 hours of fishing. I had requested bottom fishing and trolling. we only trolled, never got to bottom fish. They should of used our last two hours to bottom fish. The captain had his young daughter with him that day, which is fine, but I felt like maybe he just wanted to get her home. I don’t know what the deal was but we paid for a full day and only got 6 hours. I’m not sure really what to do about it if anything. Im sure we can’t get reimbursed for the two hours.

The captain and mate were professional and courteous and it was a beautiful day on calm seas.  The boat was pretty old with definite signs of wear.  With this considered, it was an expensive boat ride since no fish was caught with the exception of two small trigger fish.  Had an issue with the payment method but it was fixed to my satisfaction. I have been on a few fishing trips, and I would have to rank this one as my least favorite.  Catching something that could have been picture worthy would have certainly made a difference.  No photos to post unfortunately.

The captain and crew were professional, very friendly, helpful, and they answered all of our questions.

The boat was a little older but still in great shape. Was a very comfortable ride compared to some of the previous trips I’ve been on. We trolled all day and only caught two barracuda, but we were told soon as we got on the boat that it was still a bit early in the year for billfish and other big game species.

The crew did everything they could to catch us fish.
