We had a blast fishing with Captain Joel. He had a great sense of humor and really knew the waters. Each spot we went to he told us what to do, what to look out for, and had an endless amount of knowledge of the local wildlife.

The weather wasn’t exactly ideal for fishing, but thanks to how well he knows the local fish we still left with a cooler full of fish.

I would 100% recommend him to anyone interested in a fishing trip in the New Orleans/Westwego area. 10/10 would recommend.

We had the MOST amazing day today with Captain Joel! The weather was not what any of us thought it would be, but Joel made sure we were in the PERFECT spots (despite the wind), and we caught BIG fish! I have to admit….I laughed like a school girl when I caught the biggest fish I have ever caught - and was even happier when my hubby caught one that was bigger!! Captain Joel showed us the best way to do things — and even gave me his pole twice to reel it in when there was a BIG one on it!!! Seriously…I’ll be grinning for months when I think about the great day! Thanks Joel! Wade and I look forward to booking with you again - and to bringing our family for the rental cabin and your! I had a very enjoyable day with Capt Joel in his clean and comfortable boat.  We met and started early at 6 in order to beat the worst heat of the day.  The primary focus was on redfish, and I caught a limit, but I also caught sheephead, drum, catfish, croaker, and even a crab!  Capt Joel had multiple poles rigged up for different locations and situations, which I used as needed.  He is very knowledgeable about the local waters and was very good at keeping me on the fish, as well as helping me with baiting the hook and providing casting direction whenever I needed.  I highly recommend using Capt Joel and Bayou Country Charters.  Well worth the time and money!
