Captain is as honest as the day is long. He literally worked his butt off all afternoon to find fish and make our day memorable.

This is my best advice. I am a working man so I’m just gonna tell you how I feel. I find it better to just go to Walmart and buy a 35 dollar fishing rod, and head to the closest riverbank and fish your heart out.  I spent $400 for three of us to fish off shore with no luck,  except for one 4 pound triple tail.  That’s $400 for maybe a pound of fish…. let that sink in!  So if you have money to waste, by all means give it away. Myself, I will never ever, do something this stupid again. Sorry if I hurt anyone’s feelings, Captain Dan was a very nice person and very informative, but I’ll never give my money away like this in my life. I’ve had better luck by myself fishing offshore. And again, best of luck to all you anglers.

I would first like to clarify that this was a Nearshore trip. I do offer Offshore trips and would have been happy to have taken you and your family offshore, which would have taken us to different areas and provided different species to target. The decision to select the Nearshore trip was yours.

I try to do the absolute best to give my clients the best experience I can during each of my fishing trips. That said there is no guarantee. The way saltwater fish feed and move around is controlled by a bunch of environmental factors. The water temperature, moon phase, tide, wind, etc can all factor into how the fishing is on a certain day. These factors are all out of my control.

While I happily enjoy catch and release fishing the vast majority of my charters are run with the intent to take some tasty filets home, as long as the fish are legal to harvest. If the most important part of a fishing charter to you is strictly taking as much fish as possible for as little cost I would recommend you visit your local fish market. Seeing as we were the only people cleaning fish that day, and that we released a bunch of bluefish which you could legally keep (but chose not to) I think we did quite well all things considered.

First time booking a charter. Calm start, no bite 3 miles out. Came back to the port and started getting action. Caught a variety of fish (blues, red snapper, mackerel, jack crevalle, and even a tiny shark!) but never hooked a big one. Wind wasn’t helping us, but the experience was fun and Dan was a good host. Thanks

Weather turned on us during the trip but Dan had other areas in mind to get us out of the wind.  Pulled in two trophy class reds made for a happy boat.

We booked a half day trip with Cpt. Dan. He worked very hard to find multiple spots to fish to give us the best chance as catching a variety of fish.  I am not the most experienced fisher and Cpt. Dan did a very good job of helping me cast during the tour. He did not make me feel like a novice and I really appreciated that. We caught a 31.5 inch snook, which Cpt. Dan cleaned for us to take home.He is very knowledgable about the area as well. I really appreciated his insight into the area and his knowledge of the surroundings, almost like acting as a tour guide. Overall I highly recommend booking a trip!

This was our first time salt water fishing. We had an excellent time. Captain Dan was very knowledgeable and professional.  He worked hard keeping bait on our lines and trying many different spots to find fish. My 6 year old son had a blast.  We caught about 15 fish in the morning, and kept 8 to eat for dinner. I highly recommend cutlass crew fishing charters.

Had a great time with Captain Dan, he is experienced, professional and knowledgeable, and did his best to put us onto some fish. Unfortunately, the wind had changed overnight and the fish were not biting. In the latter part of the afternoon we started having some action on some small sheepshead and a few puppy drum. Although there were only a few keepers we had a really good time, and Capt. Dan expertly managed the rods and bait for all 4 of us. He even stayed out a bit longer than our 4 hours, and overall it was a great experience.
If I ever get back to Florida (hopefully it won’t be in February) I will definitely schedule another trip with Captain Dan and Cutlass Crew Fishing Charters

Have to first day that we didn’t catch fish. That being said, nobody else was catching fish; that’s the nature of fishing and hunting. Dan worked hard to try to catch fish. If it had been my boat, I would have packed it in early as the fish just were not hitting. He stayed out and kept working it and I appreciate his effort. If we go back to that area, I will hire him again because I know he will work hard.

My son and husband didn’t catch fish right off or within the half day time frame, but Dan was not going to let it end that way. He kept them out an additional 2 hours until my son caught his king mackerels. He was thrilled and had such a good time. Thank you Dan for being so patient and making sure my son caught his fish!

Will definitely use him again when I’m back in the area.

I was down from PA on a business trip and booked this fishing trip last minute. Captain Dan owner and operator meet us at Jetty Park at 7am sharp, he had the boat in the water waiting on us when we showed up at 7. We loaded our cooler with sandwiches and drinks and away we went. Captain Dan provided everything we needed poles, baits, hooks, and ice for the fish. We ran about 10 minutes out before he baited our poles and told us where to cast and wham fish on just like that. He put us on a school of triple tails and we had fish in the boat. We fished that hole out and moved to the next one, this went on for the next 5 hours. Now not every fish we caught was a keeper put he put us on fish at every hole. It was a fun and relaxing day. He was there to put fish on your line and that’s what he did. He baited your hook if you wanted took the fish off your hook for you, if you tangled up or busted a hook off he handed you another pole while he worked on that one. I wish we would have taken the all day trip. If your looking for a near shore trip book with Captain Dan he will take good care of you.

Our trip had to be canceled due to weather concerns. Captain Dan handled the situation professionally with safety as the first concern. Communication and a detailed description of the situation was top notch. Although this trip could not be rescheduled due to travel schedule, We look forward to our next opportunity to go out with the crew.

Captain Dan called me the morning of our trip and canceled do to rain(by him) it didn’t rain at all. We went out next day and he talked me out of a near shore to an inshore trip for $50 less, because of rough seas. We stayed in the channel the entire trip. I thought the inshore trip consisted of more than the channel, I thought it would have been in the Banana River. Spent half and hour alone in the locks. Yeah!

I sincerely apologize you were disappointed with your fishing experience this past Wednesday August 31st. The weather in Florida can be unpredictable and challenging to forecast, especially with large weather patterns such as tropical storm Hermione in the gulf. The decision to cancel was made on years of experience and my honest prediction of how a large thunderstorm system would behave that morning.

I apologize for the confusion as to what kind of trip was possible. Either day, Tuesday August 30 or Wednesday August 31, the sea state was such that would have made any nearshore or offshore trip unsafe. The area in which we traveled through the locks to enter, where you caught redfish, flounder, seatrout, mangrove snapper and Jack Crevalle, was the Banana River.

I always strive to provide my clients with a safe and enjoyable fishing experience, giving the best that the Space Coast has to offer. I wish you best of luck on your next fishing excursion.

Fishing with Captain Dan was an awesome experience. This guy really knows his stuff been on many fishing trips but not even compare to the experience I had not enough words to describe how great of a trip it was we are planning to book another trip by the end of this year can’t wait. We probably caught 30 red snapper in an hour and a half or so. Plus Barracuda triggerfish and we even landed a shark

We did not catch keepers in redfish and sea trout but we did have a good time.  Captain Dan was very professional and did a great job with my grandsons.  He tried very hard but the fish were just not very cooperative.  All in all we had a great time and hopefully next time will be better.

Our fishing trip was great! Dan talked with us to determine what we wanted from our trip and delivered. We caught lots of fish even though the weather was windy and it was nearly a full moon. Dan was informative about the area and fishing. He used circle hooks so that we could catch and release fish that did not meet our needs. Dan answered all of my texts for directions and times and he was waiting on us at the boat ramp when we got there five minutes early. I would rate our trip as a nine and we would love to fish with Dan again! The only thing that would have made it better was to catch an elusive Redfish but catching 3 snook was really fun too!
