Background
I have been fishing since I was old enough to walk. I grew up in the Tennessee Valley in East Tennessee, and I have fished the Tennessee River system my entire life. I "cut my teeth" crappie and trout fishing, and that is the fishing I do on my "off day." Truly, I love to catch anything that swims, I am very good at it, and I LOVE fall and winter fishing, in particular.
Techniques
With clients, depending on species, I will use live bait or artificial baits, depending on water conditions, client ability, and time of year. I sink brush for my clients that choose to crappie fish, as well as long-poling the brush during the spawn. For catfish and stripers, I will drift or anchor, depending on water conditions and what the fish have been doing. Sonar plays a big role in locating big catfish and stripers. I love to catch huge sunfish on the "drops," using artificial and live bait.
