- My name is Captain Rick Jaehn of Eastside Fishing Charters. I've been fishing for over 40 years. My fishing obsession started at a very young age, fishing the banks of Lake St. Clair everyday during summer vacation. I later was able to fish Detroit River at about 12 yrs old with an older brother that showed me the ropes of pulling wire (hand-lining) for Walleye. This inspired me to get my own boat and I honed my skills even more at catching Walleye with different methods. Soon there were different species of fish to catch and my obsession grew even more. After more than 40 years of chasing many species of fish throughout Michigan and surrounding states and countries, I decided to earn my Master Captains License so that that I would be able to share the fun, excitement, and experience of fishing with others. As part of my qualifications to run a successful fishing charter business, I received my CPR and First Aid Certification. I'm fully inspected by USCG and DNR, and I'm fully insured.
