I come from a family of commercial fishermen. Born and raised on the water, naturally, I became addicted to the saltwater environment. I love the challenge of fishing. It is very rewarding when a game plan for targeting certain species of fish is perfectly executed.
Techniques
I have spent countless times fishing with gill nets, cast nets, gigs, and rods. My preferred method is rod and reel. This method can be enjoyed while by myself or with a group of friends.

With the dropping water temps, the fish are feeding frequently. We are starting to catch limits of speckled trout and red drum. Along with those, also seeing some sheepshead, bluefish, and gray trout (weakfish).

We are catching drum, speckled trout, and flounder inshore in the creeks and marsh areas, although we are finding lots of fish and bait, they can be picky at times. Also, sea mullet (southern kingfish) have showed up in great numbers around the inlet. These are fun to catch for the whole family. Along with the sea mullet, grey trout (weakfish) and bluefish have also moved in and are willing to bite just about anything you throw.

The spanish mackerel have showed up in great numbers over the past week, with a few atlantic bonito mixed in (which is great sushi quality meat, unlike false albacore). Some king mackerel starting to show up as well just off the beach. Time to get out while the fishing's good!
