I enjoy chartering and I enjoy people and this comes across in our reviews. My aim is to be the no.1 charter on the Sunshine Coast area of Queensland. I have done game, reef and barramundi fishing for years and move to the Sunshine Coast in 2013. I worked for a year as a skipper on a local charter boat to get the feel for the area. I could see the failings of the big boat company I worked for and they had no regard for customers and therefore got no repeat business. The also didn't care about catching fish or people's expectation it was always about packing as many people on the boat and taking there money. I sadly see there business gradually becoming the dinasour of the past not keeping up with people's expectations. My business focus is on firstly customer service and secondly catching fish. We don't sell u a dream. We do our best to catch fish. You fish with upto date epuipment high quality spin gear and braid not antiquated reels and nylon. More effort more fish!
Techniques
I love all types of fishing but mostly enjoy like minded people. Fishing gives me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. People ask me about the best fish I have caught. I don't really have one it's possibly the next fish. The greatest moments in fishing for me is the experiences along the way. Although I have caught many big fish Marlin sailfish barramundi and big reef fish. My greatest moments were watching my son grow up catching fish with me. These are the memories I treasure not the fish. Some of my greatest memories are fishing with customers over the years I always have fun catching fish with people. I'm blessed with spending so much time on the water over 20 years of chartering and still loving it and loving the experiences with the new people I fish with every week. I charter fish to keep food on the table for my kids. I won't get rich. It's a lifestyle choice. I love fishing and love fishing people. I hope to catch a fish with you soon

I took back and forth emails to confirm days, as the captain was not available. Once I called to get in touch, I had to ring and text for him to call back. Then on the evening before again I had to msg to ask when he was going to ring and confirm. On the charter they only caught two fish to keep. It also said that the captain would clean and fillet the fish but we had to take it away and do it ourselves. Overall below average experience and would likley not recommend.

Thanks Fiona for your feedback
I’m sorry that we had problems with the contact I was away up north on a barramundi experience and was out of service for multiple days. This is the first time we have done this and it seems I should have left my phone directed to someone else in the office. So it seems we have to lift our service in the communication area.
The charter was a five hour charter and this is the minimum charter we do as it only go’s some 6nm offshore. There are some 600 recreational fishing boats and another 10 charter boats leaving the port of Mooloolaba every time the weather is good and all the inner grounds receive a lot of fishing pressure and every day is different on these in inshore grounds. In the event you would like to catch more fish I would suggest you take the 7 hour out to 12 nautical Miles or the 9 hour charter out to 15nm and beyond to catch more fish.
Queensland Fisheries don’t allow us to remove the skin of the fish prior to arriving at shore. With this in mind we don’t clean the fish unless asked too. As it is a 5 hour charter the time consumed when getting back to the ramp in cleaning fish is down time for us. On some days like the charter we did two days before you we had over 15 fish. It would take us over two hours to clean these fish when we get back and this isn’t commercially viable. Some of the larger charter boats have deckies on board and they generally gut and gill the catch on the return trip. These larger boats are slower and only do half the speed we do, so as a compromise we have more time fishing and half the time getting there. Giving you more time on the fish. Gutting and gilling is a practice where they remove the gut and the gill and this is not the general requirement for cleaning fish. Most of these Queensland type fish require filleting and this is an involved process that removes the fillet and the skin and can only be done onshore under Queensland Fisheries Law. We can do this for you on land but not on the boat but when we have a turn around trip going straight back out we find it harder to do but we can do this for you at an extra cost and drop your fillets around to you later that night.
I had a stand in skipper on your day as I had a knee injury and this option was not expressed to you the customer.
We have taken your complaints on-board and will begin to rectify straight away. I hope that you can take into account this is our first bad review and if you look at all our other reviews you will find they are five star across the board.
This is not to say we are not fallible and fishing is great but it is not always a given that you will catch lots of fish.
We try our best and when we have bad days fishing generally everybody has a bad day.
its the nature of our industry.
We wish you all the best in your future endeavours

Thanks Allan for your great Review. We always have a great day when the fishing is good . We had to endure a cool southerly change but we survived. We do our best to put you on the fish but I must say you were fortunate enough to get a good mornings fishing on a half day charter.
Its not always easy to do this as the fish don’t always cooperate but we are lucky.

We caught lots of smaller fish. Wasn’t the greatest fishing day. We had two cracking fishing day leading up to this trip but it seems we can’t bang them everyday. We were expecting to see the whales but no show for them on the day. I had a great day with your family on the water. Sorry that exhausted everyone but we had a cracking day weather wise and it’s always great to have great people on the boat who enjoyed the conditions.
Best of luck in the future.

Had an awesome day out with Rob.  Caught so many fish my arms felt like lead from fatigue. Couldn’t stop fishing and catching so many fish. Rob is so knowledgable and thoughtful.  I highly recommend this trip. My 11 year old loved every minute and caught heaps of fish.  Such a great day.

Rob was great, got the message across in a relaxed laid back style and off we went. He is a larrikin of the first order rigged your lines and kept yarning and taking the mickey. We had some big swells and solid winds but really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend this trip

Phil and Jason were great to fish with and great company. Unfortunately it was a long weekend and the waterway at noosa was extremely busy we caught lots of flathead and bream but know jacks due to the cold change that come in the week before.  I love fishing the pristine Sunshine Coast waterways but unfortunately you do get massive crowds on the water on the weekend and the large amount of boats and jet skis can make fishing hard and sometimes impossible.
We still hooked plenty of flathead under extreme conditions.
At sunny coast fishing charters we love our fishing and try to make the best of all situations.

It was a wonderful experience. Captain was very patient with us even though we are a little late. He was a prankster and kept the atomosphere lively throughout. He is clearly very experienced, as we caught loads of fish and the other boats were following us around. 5 stars would re-visit.

We had a great morning on the water with Nick Nancy and Raymond. They had never been fishing before and it was hard for them at first to get co ordinated with the tackle.
What they lacked in skill they made up for enthusiasm. Anyway the day started a l little hazy and Raymond and Nancy hooked up som big fish straight up but they lost them. Not enough coaching on my part but we persevered and then Nancy hooked a big snapper. She struggled with the weight of this fish as she was only a slight build. Any way she bought it to the boat and was very happy with her first fish.
Raymond hooked his fish struggled got him to the boat and was also very happy
Nick at this stage was getting a little peeved. So I went through the process again and then he hooked up.  He started being the fish up and it got heavier we had the fish to the side of the boat the trevally was bitten in half. So we joked about nick being half way there to catching a full fish anyway he caught his fish not long after and was ecstatic. Nick was more concerned about being sick at first but once he overcome the fear of that he could concentrate on his fishing. Well done nick sandy and Raymond
I’m sure next time they fish they should be a little more advanced.

Thanks Ben great to have u guys out.
Doing the half day five hour trips can be tough on some days as u can be fishing between tide changes and this is generally not conducive to good fishing.
We had a great day catching moari cod and pearlies and even a happy moment.
Great bunch of guys thanks again Ben.

Rob pick us up from our hotel at 4am and we went to the noose river. Caught a few flathead and trevally.  Rob had food and drinks and cakes on board for the us.  Experienced rain cold winds sunshine all in one day.  first time for both of us to casting against a river bank for mangrove jack Rob taught us and not long after we managed quite well.  Rob was great after a few hours it felt like it was 3 mates on a days fishing.

The fishing and the weather wasn’t that great but we made up for it with some healthy banter. Hope to see you guys again

Rob did all he could to find us fish even extending our time.  The boat was a comfortable ride and he was very knowledgeable with a lot of experience.  We even got a whale watching tour thrown into boot.  It was a fantastic day that we all enjoyed as he was an easy going guy,  would go out fishing with him again when back in the sunshine coast.
