Great experience !  Unfortunately we didn’t catch any fish we could keep.  Would definitely contract a larger boat next time.  We had 4 adults and a toddler with us.  Captain was great - super nice guy and very helpful.

I do alot of fishing in destin when i come to visit family and this was my first time on this boat, everything is new and works all the rods and reels are in great condition and the boat has great electronics. The captain recommended that we troll for a little bit for kings and then bottom fish for snapper im glad i listened in stead off just going bottom fishing. We caught some mahi mahi witch was an awsome suprise. The captain knew what he was doing and was extremely nice to the kids and taught them how to fish just dident do it for them.

Couldn’t have asked for a better fishing trip. Cought plenty of fish and had the time of my life. The boat was great, had plenty of room, and the ride was phenomenal. Captain was very patient with helping make sure you were doing everything right in order to catch more fish. I will definitely be booking this boat for my next trip!

I have waited several days to post a review because as they say, “don’t hit send”.  To say I was disappointed might be an understatement.  I felt almost taken advantage of by the end of our experience.  I think they should have called us first thing in the morning and cancelled due to the weather and large swells in the gulf, and it was not outfitted with a trolling motor to be able to maneuver for fishing in the bay properly.  I think the captain and boat were rushed into action and my family and wallet were the ones that paid the price.
Our experience started with the captain being late and this being his first day on the job, so he was unfamiliar with the boat and the fishing gear available to him.
To be fair, the weather and some of my family’s sea sickness did not help the situation.  The swells in the gulf were probably on the order of 6 feet.  This made fishing from the boat difficult, if not almost impossible, and it quickly made a couple of my family sick even though they had taken bonine.  It seems as though the captain and the owner both knew that the gulf would not be very accessible, and almost dangerous with this boat, but the charter went on anyway.  The swells in the gulf ended our excursion on the gulf within the first 10 to 15 minutes.  This was just after we had caught our first and only fish (which we did not get into the boat because the boat did not have a net and the captain could not gaff the fish quickly enough).
The captain was understanding of the sea sickness and quickly pulled up to a beach for some to get off the boat for a few minutes.
I have to admit though that despite all of the negative comments above the kids all said the trip was still fun, just a bummer about not catching fish.  I guess I am glad I set their expectations low.

Mr Kinsella,
First off thank you for choosing insight outfitters. Second I am personally sorry that you were disappointed with the choice that you made. The trolling motor issue is a very soar point with us as well, back order now for five weeks. Yes it is brand new boat and brand new equipment, but as for the captain he has been fishing theses waters for many years. I have confidence in his ability. There is never a guarantee you catch fish. I have talked to the captain about being late and it seems that there was a misunderstanding about the launch time of 0700. Yes the gulf was rough that day and the captain did request that consideration be made about not going out, but you still wished to pursue gulf fishing. When you booked your trip you requested that Monday because of the forecasted weather for the week. We were trying to accommodate your family’s needs. If the sea were indeed at six feet than that would have been a dangerous situation where even the bigger boats would have been challenged.  With respect to a cancelation, that is a decision for the customer to make not the captain. He makes that call in unsafe conditions such as heavy rain or fog winds or seas that are to bad for safe transit.
