Background
I started young catching catfish, white perch and yellow perch on the muddy banks of the Patuxent River in southern Maryland with my brother and father. My father, Captain David picked up a 20 foot cuddy cabin bay boat and my destiny came into focus. The weekend trips moved out of the rivers and into the Chesapeake Bay to pursue sea trout, striped bass, croaker and flounder. I started into the fishing business right out of high school with a job as mate on the biggest head boat working the Chesapeake Bay. After several good years running charters in Maryland, I visited a friend at Flagler College and was enchanted by the great fishing, casual atmosphere and good living in Saint Augustine. So, I moved the boat down to Florida and now guide my new customers to the incredible offshore fishing near the nations oldest city.
Techniques
I love offshore trolling and live lining. These two techniques provide an opportunity to catch some powerful and exciting fish in the clear blue waters near Saint Augustine. Trolling provides the customer the opportunity to participate in rigging baits, setting out lines and gaffing the Tuna, Marlin, Sailfish or Wahoo that cruise offshore in search of food. Live lining provides a more focused approach to such heavy hitters as Grouper, Snapper and Amberjack that hang out over wrecks just waiting for a meal to float by. The customer has the chance to feel the sudden weight of a large fish on the end of the line and the thrill of the initial charge to get the brute away from the bottom before these savvy fish tie the line up and get away.

Captain Luke and his first mate Shelby provide us with the live bait, tackle and a fantastic vessel.
We were able to site three sailfish inside of 10 mile line from the beach.  had one one for 30+ minutes before breaking off at the boats side.  We had a truly enjoyable fishing trip and would recommend their services for future fishing to everyone.

Captain Luke is outstanding.  We had fairly rough weather and seas the day we went out and Capt’n Luke did a great job navigating and got us into some big fish territory.  The 32 ft boat is best suited for 4 people—we had 5 and that proved a bit tight.  One got seasick so we ended up with a comfortable 4—but without that incident, it wasn’t good for 5 especially in rough water.  Overall, though, it was a great experience.  We’ll use this outfit again.

Thank you Captain Luke!! You agreed to take us out on an off-shore trip in poor conditions and we had a GREAT day, catching some “serious fish”! You know what you are doing and you made it a very enjoyable experience. Great job cleaning the fish, too!!
