Captain
Chris Barnett

Member since September 2015 Hatteras, United States
Background
A third generation waterman, Captain Chris was born and raised in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He spent more than eight years mating on some of the top boats in the Hatteras fleet. After earning his Captain’s license, Captain Chris also operated a commercial boat out of Wanchese, NC during the off seasons. Captain Chris is incredibly passionate about fishing. He loves flying Billfish flags on the way home and throwing fish on the dock after a great day out on the water. His words of encouragement will keep anglers going even when their battle with a large fish is starting to wear them down. When he's not fishing, Captain Chris enjoys spending time with his wife Kerri and his two children, Sylas and Colbi.
Techniques
We are typically trolling skirted ballyhoo or pulling lures. A typical spread of lures will be 8-10 lines. This spread works great for tuna, dolphin, wahoo, marlin and sailfish. When we run across a school of dolphin, we will quickly pull the lines in and use light tackle drifting with lots of angler participation which gets fast and furious! Occasionally we will stop over some wrecks and other "secret" spots for some high speed vertical jigging or deep dropping for grouper and tile fish.
