Background
Captain Doug Riccardi is an experienced charter captain who runs upwards of 250 charters every year. With over 2500 charters under his belt, he has learned a lot about where to fish, how to fish certain species, and much more besides. His credentials include Military Service - Army Military Police '85-'92, Culinary School, Work & College 1987-2006, and finally his Captain's license, which he has held since 2006.
Techniques
I fish Bay, Beach & Gulf of Mexico Reefs. Usually 12lb. test line with 25-30lb leader. The big rods have 60lb. terminal line with 80-100lb. leader. In the Gulf I use wire when needed, Kingfish, Sharks, Big Spanish Mackerel, Bonito, Cobia, Permit, etc. We go out there to have a good time, I never know what we're gonna catch. Sometimes shallow water produces huge fish and Gulf of Mexico Reefs have little grunts and pinfish..."you neva know" Women catch the most fish on my boat. Especially if they've never fished in their life. I Tell You What! Kids are welcome and needed. Kids Catch Fish! I'm tellin' Y'All. Let's go out there and see what we can catch is the best I can guarantee. I've had folks that caught a hundred fish and they we're still miserable. Why? Who knows... Fishing is about going out there and spending time with family and friends. It's about the wait, the hunt and finally, God willing, the catch. Life is sweet when you realise that the fun is in the journey.

Thanks for the review. Sometimes when it’s a little slow, i’ll keep folks out there for an extra hour. that’s what occurred, and as you can see, we caught some nice fish. Fishing is the act of casting, reeling, talking, spending time with friends and family, not always reeling in “the big one”

Captain Doug of Tear Em’ Up Charter Fishing provided an excellent fishing experience!  His customer service is terrific. His expertise in finding fish was great and we came away with a lot of fish. He was right there to help all the while telling lots of fishing stories. It was great fun and we’ll be back again!

Dang Man! It was my pleasure! Crazy Day! I’m still tired. They weren’t there today though. Some smaller snapper and some fat sheepshead too.

Thanks Gil Farley! It’s crazy how a poor weather day can produce some great results! Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel and a host of lil creatures kept us/me busy for the whole trip!
