Fishing is what I was put on this earth to do... It's probably my Norwegian heritage. Live bait, dead bait, or artificial... I pride myself in being extremely versatile. I use whatever techniques are necessary to generate more bites based on tides and other conditions. Usually I use multiple techniques at the same time.

We had a great evening of fishing with David. He was very knowledgeable and fun to fish with. We caught several species of fish (Tarpon, Snook, Jack, Snapper, Moon Fish, Catfish, etc.) . My wife caught a Snook over 35” long and a Tarpon that was a little bigger than the Snook. Those 2 catches were the highlight of the night. She did a great job of fighting and landing these fish. She actually caught the Tarpon on light tackle and had a battle on her hands landing it. We fished from 7pm to about 11:15pm. We enjoy night fishing the most. If you are ever in the Ft Lauderdale area, hook up with these guys for great fishing.

Started the evening catching a thirty five inch Barracuda. Ended the day with a 5 ft. Nurse Shark. In between we caught a 7 ft. 100+ pound tarpon. 45 minutes of fight. My son was exhausted but overjoyed. We caught a total of over 30 fish. Ray Peterson was great. Very personable. His skills made it possible for us to land the big tarpon. Will definitely be chartering with Ray again… Also was great answering our emails and questions prior to the charter! THANKS RAY!!!

The trip came together last minute when I found that I had an open night while in Ft. Lauderdale.  We met at the dock 9:00pm with (2) live wells full of bait and the trip was on!  I caught several nice Jacks to warm up, then we moved on to the “Bucket List”  a nice 12-14 lb Snook, (2) nice Tarpon and finished the night off with a 6’-7’ shark.  Back by 1:00am hungry and tired, but had an absolute blast!  Ray knows where the fish are… Great experience! Will definitely go out again with Ray next time I’m in Ft Lauderdale.

Amazing nighttime Atlantic adventure in the Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal with Captain/Owner Ray Peterson with First Class Fishing. Thank you for showing us an A+ time….jacks, catfish, snappers, barracudas, snooks, tarpons and we even caught live bait, pilchards. I had a count of 28 fish caught in 4 hours with the maximum size fish being 80 lbs! We loved every minute!

I had the opportunity to charter Captain Ray for a buddy’s bachelor party. My friend’s only wish was to catch a few fish and have a great time.  Luckily, I heard about captain Ray from a friend of a friend. In any case, we were blown away by Capt. Ray’s professionalism, service, and of course fishing ability. I believe that an outdoor experience is truly only as good as you make it….and great guides like Capt. Ray always make it fun. Do yourself a favor…when you go to book a fishing trip…make sure you book FIRST CLASS

We had a late afternoon/evening trip with Captain Ray on the Fort Lauderdale inner coastal waterway.  We started the trip catching baitfish (pilchards and mullet) via a throw net.  Finding and then catching the bait was almost as fun as fishing.  With respect to the latter, we tried a number of different techniques including trolling live mullet, fishing cut and live baits while anchored, and sight fishing lights around docks and anchored yachts.  Altogether, we caught a number of snook, one tarpon, and a handful of jacks and snappers.
Captain Ray’s knowledge of the inner coastal fishery was evident insofar as he knew right where to go for baitfish, and tailored our fishing techniques to tides and time of day.  Sight fishing snook and tarpon in the lights was exhilarating, as we got to see the fish approach and then strike our live baits.  I’d recommend Captain Ray to anyone looking to have a great day out on the water.

Captain Ray really knows his fishing spots. He showed us a great time, and put us on loads of fish. He is very patient with kids and very hands on. We will definitely go out with him again. I would highly recommend First Class Fishing Charters for any level from beginners to families, to pros!  He showed us a great time.

Let me start by saying that I’ve been on a lot of fishing charters and drift boats in my day… And I have never had so much fun as going out with Captain Ray, first class fishing charters of Florida!! Not only did I catch THREE times the fish we normally haul in the boat but Captain Ray put on a show the whole night! From cruising around the secret intercostal water ways and taking in the views to eating sushi on the boat we had a blast!! Oh yeah, and we landed a monster 130 lbs Tarpon that night too, one of my life long dreams! 10 out 10 for Captain Ray and First Class Fishing Charters of Florida!! I already can’t wait to come back to south Florida so I can book another excursion!! Thanks, Ray!!
