Background
Captain Marvin Steiding, a Maryland native, started Reel Candy Sportfishing Charters in the late 1990’s with his wife Candy in Nokomis, Florida. He has been a business owner, a career law enforcement officer and he also served on the Governor’s Commission for Public Safety. Captain Marvin started fishing on the Chesapeake Bay and had his first boat in his twenties. During the short offshore season in Ocean City, Maryland, he often fished from the Angler Restaurant and Marina, it was then that his passion grew for white and blue marlin, as well as tuna and sharks. Although most of his accomplishments in Maryland were for bluefish, striped bass, and shark tournaments, it wasn’t until his boat arrived in Jupiter, Florida in 1998, and he fished with Tom Henry, Barry Hitch, and some other Maryland acquaintances that sailfishing became a real challenge. He quickly learned all that he could about sailfishing and it was then that offshore fishing became his true passion
Techniques
We thoroughly enjoy kite fishing with live bait. There is absolutely nothing better than watching a lit up fish chasing a bait around trying to eat it. Of course when we need to cover a lot of water to find fish, we troll the blue waters of the gulf stream..

Great crew and boat. They need some place to sit on the stern. My knees were killing me.

Thanks for fishing with us and we are glad you enjoyed your trip. Unfortunately when sailfishing we are all over the place with multiple hookups therefore there is no place to put chairs. We will be placing the fighting chair in soon for some big game angling. Let us know when you return we will do our best to accommodate you. Sorry about your knees!
