The ocean was pretty rough on the day we went out, and nobody seemed to be catching anything, but we got a dorado right off the bat, and then things were quiet for quite a while until Juan Carlos spotted schools of feeding tuna.  It was so fun to chase down the tuna, cast into the middle of the school, and then bring them in!  We saw lots of wildlife (whale, dolphins, turtles, manta rays) and had delicious sashimi and snacks on the boat.  I would totally recommend going out with Juan Carlos! ... The Capitaine and helper’s were fantastic, they work hard to give us a great time. Many small attentions that do the difference such preparing pineapple on a plate that look good, brought some pastries and jus. They also prepared the filet and did a ceviche with the Pompano that we caught. I recommend this Capitaine and crews without hesitation.

I asked the captain to take us for sailfish and we went right in the spot we had 2 big sailfish on the line, unfortunately we lost them during the fight but its part of the game, after that we caught a couple groupers and tunas it was a really fun day, guys were cool and prepared a beautiful lunch. Will go back with them for sure

We went for a full day of fishing with Juan Carlos and had the BEST day! Our goal was to catch roosterfish and he put us right on them! We caught two GIANTS just a couple hours into our day. In that same area we watched a momma and baby humpback whale play around. We also saw a few whales completely breaching the water on our way back. It was an incredible trip and the captain and his crew made it spectacular! I would highly recommend Captain Juan Carlos if you plan to fish Costa Rica!

Fantastic day fishing for big fish. Even though conditions were rough, the crew kept on task, helping us both land our first sailfish. What an experience!! Bonus swim with a sea turtle! Captain promptly responded to our booking questions, and got us started on time.
