Warning: do not book with Wild Goose if you don’t want to have a ton of fun and catch a bunch of fish.

We booked an 8 hr offshore trip with Wild Goose for our group of six. We were happily greeted in the wee hours of the morning by Captain Ray and his first mate Ernie. They already had the boat gassed up and all the gear setup. We brought a few soft coolers to keep us fueled and hydrated for the day, grabbed some bait and were fishing by the time the sun came up.

Ray and Ernie were awesome. Our group can get a little rambunctious and they were cheerful and enthusiastic throughout the whole trip. They are both really proactive during the trip, which made things easier and more enjoyable for us. Captain Ray always found great fishing spots (we went to 4-5 different spots during the trip) and Ernie made sure we always had fresh bait and all our lines in the water.

By the end, the six of us caught eight fish and had a few others hooked. We were all novice fisherman and the crew helped coach us so that we had some technique and were able to reel in some big tuna.

Overall, wouldn’t change a single thing about the trip or our experience. Will be recommending Wild Goose to all my San Diego buddies and booking additional trips in the future.

This was a “Dad’s day with kids”.  Two Dad’s and three kids.

We did the four hour local tour.  All I can say is neither Dad had our sea legs, but the kids had an SUPER TIME and both Captain Ray and first mate Matt were the best.

They were able to keep the kids engaged and excited the entire trip while the two Dad’s did our best to “stay calm” and “count down time remaining before we would head back to shore”.  lol.

Seriously.  The kids caught more than 25 fish between the three of them and the smiles on their faces more than made the trip an overwhelming success.

The Wild Goose was clean, had ample room for everyone and Ray and his crew were tremendous!

The kids want to go out even further and longer next time. . .but we will send them with the moms!

Would recommend this trip GREAT Captains found the tuna—Loved the boat and the sound of the marine turbo diesels it was well handled also. I am a retired Professional Biologist who worked with freshwater fish and the tuna were beautiful powerful fish to see !

Ray and Captain Ernie and crew are the best!  We fish all over and they made a great comfortable day deep sea near Mexico waters!  My 12 yo is a monster fisherman and the crew made sure we hit great spots.  Well run.  Well managed. Good price.  Will use them again for sure

Captain Ray and Trevor kept us on the fish all day even with the storm. They made sure to reposition the boat to the best fishing spot always. Very friendly, very experienced, and very professional. These guys know what they’re doing and know where the fish are at!
