Jigging the Lake Pontchartrain bridges for Speckled Trout and running around the Biloxi Marsh chasing Speckled Trout and Redfish is where I spend most of my time. Sight fishing Redfish is another big passion as well as running for Tripletail.

Snuck another one in before Christmas and the next major cold front! We had non stop action at every stop but had to weed through the throwbacks while putting together a solid box. Mr. Keith, 2 sons and nephew wore the fish out at every stop and they are frying up some fresh fish for dinner tonight!

Trout didnโ€™t want to play but sheeps saved the day!!! Todayโ€™s crew wanted trout but the hard cold fronts and 15+mph East winds made the trout bite tough...we grinded a few spots to get our only 5 trout for the day, but after a few more stops we found the motherload of sheepshead and stuffed the box leaving them biting with a couple bonus redfish!

Cold and windy is a recipe for a hot redfish and bass bite! Today I had Brad and Brad from Texas in town to get on some of the great fishing weโ€™ve been having. Temps in the low 40โ€™s and a West wind blowing all night dropped the water significantly which can really stack the redfish and bass up. 2 quick moves and we found the honey hole staying Power Poled down for hours while filling the ice chest with as many redfish and bass as the guys could stand. Another great crew and great trip, canโ€™t wait for the next one!

Insane trout bite to end Thanksgiving br

Today I had the pleasure of taking Mr. Eric and his family. The kids were home from college on Thanksgiving break and it was the perfect opportunity to get out on the water and catch some fish. Today was one of those days where everything goes right! Rain chances dropped to nothing, winds laid down, and the fish bit non-stop! We pulled up to the first spot and there were birds diving and shrimp jumping out the water running from feisty speckled trout. We were able to catch single and doubles on artifical about 2โ€™ under a cork. We then transitioned to sliding cork setups in varying depths from 10โ€™-16โ€™ and the bite stayed hot. Lastly we switched to my go to drop shot rigs and fished the bottom in approximately 25โ€™ of water and finished filling the box! Today was truly one of those special days...the trolling motor held us spot-locked in the same spot for 4.5 hours and the crew caught fish in the entire 25โ€™ water column, it was just amazing and so much fun to see the double and triple hookups and fish flying over the side all morning. Total count for the day was 94 trout and 1 big redfish. We shared stories, laughs, some new recipes, and a great time was had by all! Really looking forward to taking this crew again!

2020 has been a wild ride but, even still, we have a lot to be thankful for. Alyssaโ€™s 18th birthday was today and her dad wanted to take her fishing. The pattern for today was to stick and move as the fish didnโ€™t seem to be stacked up in any particular spot with our abnormally warm water temps for this time of year. So what does that mean? More spots equals more fish and thats exactly what we did. We covered a lot of water and picked a few fish off at every stop producing a very healthy ice chest at the end of the day. 8 different species across 26 fish is a record in and of itself worth bragging about...speckled trout, white trout, redfish, flounder, sheepshead, bass, freshwater cats, and a channel mullet...talk about a Thanksgiving spread! We have an amazing fishery here and this box of fish proves it. A major cold front is approaching and will really stack the fish up. December 2020 will be one to remember and limits of speckled trout and redfish will be a great way to close out one of the wildest years in history, letโ€™s go fishing!!!
