We booked a half day trip to go shark fishing. The weather was crazy from the hurricane so the captain called us and asked if we wanted to reschedule or stay in the sound. We opted to stay in the sound and went on as planned. When we arrived, the boat was spotless clean! The captain greeted us and we headed out to catch some fish. He was very knowledgeable and schooled us on the different types of fish that frequent the area. He had everything ready to go when we first anchored, he baited the hooks, cast them out, and we waited. Listened to some good music, had some good conversations, and beautiful views. No bites. So after a bit, we trolled around some shallow areas, still, no bites. We cast a bunch of other areas but not a single bite that day. Even though we didn’t catch a fish, we had a great time and will absolutely be back and book with Outcast again. Thanks for the awesome time!

Absolutely awesome trip with Captain Lance!  We had a great time even though the trigger fish gave us the early “closed mouth” reception. Captain Lance stayed with it the whole time and kept mixing and matching until we scored big on some beautiful drum!  My son was having an absolute blast and Captain Lance walked him very patiently through the rigors of ocean fishing to the success of landing a trigger fish, remora, a few Black Sea bass and two keeper drum. It’s about 8 hours later and he’s still talking about it!  Overall it was an amazing trip with a great Captain that fed 10 people tonight on delicious drum and trigger fish. We will definitely be booking again on our future trips to OBX!

Capt. Lance was excellent! He was informative, funny, helpful, and engaged the entire time! Gorgeous, clear day on the water. He knew exactly where to go and has extensive knowledge of the area and the wildlife! His boat was well-equipped, clean, and comfortable. The ride out and back was a blast! My son was looking forward to this the whole trip and he was so happy! We brought along his friend who had never fished before. Lance was a patient and exact teacher! It’s worth mentioning that our friend had some executive functioning issues and Lance was up to the task. He was there to support/teach him and his good nature and compassion showed through. He shared his beverage supply with us (we forgot water), played great music throughout and answered our many questions happily! He anticipated our needs and made sure we had what we were supposed to have. He took pics with the boys and their fishing haul. Had a colleague take the fish to be cleaned and filleted. The dock offers a service for a small charge to clean, package, and ice the fish. They even sold us a cooler to take it home. We are coming back next year! Exceptional experience! Thanks Lance for showing us a great time!! Highly recommend!!

Capt was up front in advance about conditions and what was best to target (had booked a shark trip, but warned us it was going to be fruitless). 

Seemed everyone on the water (other boats of various sizes) was struggling but we still managed to put 14 ribbonfish in the boat and have a good time!

Be prepared to pay direct (cash, check, venmo, paypal) as fishingbooker is only good for registration.  Also good to know that fish cleaning is done by folks at the marina, so plan extra for that, rates vary by type of fish and size/weight/cut.  We ended up having some of our catch prepared for lunch by the restaurant (nice to still keep some catch if you are in a hotel).

All in all good experience, would recommend.

The fishing trip from the start was a blast.  Captain Lance worked very hard to keep us on fish the entire morning.  Even though the fishing was not the greatest we still managed 1 Red Drum, 2 Stingrays and 2 Flounder.  We arrived back to the marina and Captain Lance took our Red Drum and brought it to the local restaurant where it was cleaned and cooked on site for us.  I highly recommend Captain Lance for any type of fishing trip.  He is beyond polite, respectful, and knows how to have a good time.  The best thing I can say about him is you will not be disappointed by how hard he works to keep you on the bite.
