I did a lot of research on fishing booker before selecting Blue Chip. The reason I chose Blue Chip was because the boat and equipment looked first class and there were many solid reviews. Blue Chip is definitely a Blue Chip operation captain Jon and his mate Jackson know what they’re doing, we had an awesome day on the water and it was worth every penny, the proof is in the pictures. What you don’t see is an even better story, my 8 year old son hooked up on a marlin and I had sharks steal a 60+ pound tuna from me and as you’ll see a shark bit our Wahoo in half. If you’re looking for an offshore experience at the outer banks, you can’t afford not to book with Blue Chip!

Blue Chip charters was one of the best charters I have been on. First mate Chip and Capt Jon’s nephew Jackson were on point! It was a little slow the first hour or so and Capt Jon found them and put us on them! We had 3 teenagers and three adults who were worn out at the end of the day. Every time Chip would finally go and grab his lunch rods we’re going down! Ended up with 15 yellowfin tuna all good size. The boat is beautiful and very well maintained. You will not be disappointed booking Capt Jon for your trip! Do it!

Best charter my friends have ever been on and it’s not even close. Captain John and crew were extremely accommodating in every aspect and targeted what we asked for. One of the things I loved most was how excited capt. John and the mate/helper would get when they saw something that looked prime for fish and even more so when we’d hook something. We fed off their energy compared to a lot of charters where it can feel like you’re walking on eggshells to not piss off the captain. What makes it more impressive is that they had already fished 15 days straight before us and they still had that kind of energy! These is no doubt these guys LOVE what they do. Would recommend them to anyone and cannot wait to fish with him again.

Also, we landed a 151 lb yellowfin :)

Captain Jon was very communicative leading up to our trip for my father-in-law and myself. Early bird gets the worm. We arrived early as requested and were set to sail at 438am. First mate, Nick, was very efficient, eager, and passionate to host us and kept our lines free of grass and fresh bait constantly. Jackson, mate helper, was a young whipper snapper that was very quick to offer help when the bite got hot! We caught a whole bunch of Mahi early on and made some moves to locate some yellow fin and Captain Jon did not disappoint. The plan worked, the baits were changed when needed, and then we caught some more. This is the cleanest boat, with the best tackle, and best crew on-board. We’re pe coiled in for next year and we will be excited to get back on board.
