- Captain Tom has been fishing the Rockport area since he was 16 years old with his grandpa who taught him most of his tricks and trades, such as drifting across the Estes flats for Redfish and Trout. From then on, Captain Tom has been hooked on saltwater fishing. Fishing is a passion of his and he's always willing to help and teach others so they can enjoy this great sport. He's also a firm supporter of taking kids fishing as he believes there's no better bond than out on the water with your children.
- Techniques
- Captain Tom's preferred style of fishing is wading with lures. He always used to fish out of the boat but over the last several years he started wading and realized you're in the fishes' element and there’s nothing like reeling in a giant fish that's up close and personal. That’s a memory you won’t forget. The captain's strategy is to find and fish different structures that most likely hold fish according to several different wind, tide movement, moon, and weather forecasts. A point he considers worth remembering is that 90% of the fish will be in 10% of the water.
