Captain Ted was great. The Red fish didn’t cooperate today. Maybe something to do with the moon and he eclipse yesterday. Trout were hot, got some good action a few keepers. Caught many types of fish, trout, mackrel, grouper, a snapper or two, daughter caught a stingray, several catfish. Great day on the water in Florida. Absolutely a must do for a family.

We fished the mangroves and brought in some nice red fish. Ted treated my 7 and 9 year old with patience and respect. Made them feel like kings of the sea. Pointed out the dolphins and other sea life. We Caught red fish, jack, and some catfish on a day where other people were getting skunked. He knows where to look! Cleaned our fish and we took them to Crabby Bills! Fantastic lunch. It was a great time!

Found Capt. Ted to be a top shelf captain.  He knows the waters of the back bays and put us on the fish within 15 minutes of leaving the dock.  Because of the tides we only moved 3 times.
We’ve tried others but fishing with Ted was the best by far.
We caught so many fish the cooler was full and it took 2 hours for him (another plus) to clean all our fish.  We will not fish with anyone else.

Met Capt Ted at the dock and he was ready to go. We had some high winds but Capt Ted went out of his way to put us on some fish. We caught trout, redfish, catfish, and a lady fish. Capt Ted was likable and pleasant the entire trip. My wife caught a really nice 29” Redfish and Capt Ted made it a special memory I’m sure she’ll never forget. Lots of cool dolphin and ray sightings too.  If we book another trip, Capt Ted is our first choice hands down.

We had the most amazing day. Captain Ted is super nice, caring and just a fun guy to spend the day hanging around out with on a boat. He is very knowledgeable about the area, the fish and angling. He is all about helping whereever/whenever needed but also about letting you own/enjoy whatever parts of the fishing experience you are comfortable with. We will definitely charter with him again!!

Captain Ted is a great guide very knowable of the water and fish species in the area.  I know many people that have gone with a guide and said that they caught fish but didn’t have much memories other then photos. Capsian Ted made us memories that will last us a lifetime.  He is truly a people person that live fishing and loves putting people on fish!  At the end of are trip it felt we where fishing with a friend not with a guide. Not only is he friendly but his servise is top notch you don’t have to worry about a thing but getting fish in the boat. We also went over are trip time by about a hour trying to get everyone a keeper red fish with no additional charge. If you want a fishing charter that has it all go with caption Ted!!!

Captain Ted allowed us to spend an extra hour on the water, hitting as many spots as possible to boost our catch.  His knowledge of the bays around St. Pete is excellent and we caught enough fish for several dinners.  Our favorite was Ted’s recommendation for a mayonnaise and spice rub in which we fried our fish.  What a great meal, especially the redfish!  Use his knowledge to your advantage.  Thanks Ted.

My girlfriend (Char) and I are in our 50’s and have fished in Michigan for years.  Captain Ted Nesti took us out on his 21 ft. boat for an all day trip that started at 8;30 am.  He was very intense to get us on fish quickly.  He was quickly baiting us up and instructing us on catching fish.  He is very competitive at catching fish for his boat.  This suited us fine.  Captain Ted was able to put us on some fish all day. Sting rays, catfish, ocean trout, flounder and a small shark were fun, but he sensed we wanted bigger.  Near the end of our scheduled day he got us on some big red fish.  Char caught a 10lb one that was over the slot limit and we ended up catching a half dozen of them.  As this bite was hot, Captain Ted let us stay a half hour over.  Captain Ted also gave us a few tricks to bait fishing that increased the bite.  He let us fish until we called it off.  You can just see the passion he has to put people on fish!  However, the story is even better.  Captain Ted knew that in between tide coming in and going out, fishing is tougher.  During the slowest times, he found dolphins that actually followed the boat and jumped in his boat wakes.  He also seems to be a friend of the Manetee in the area.  He found a couple in a channel and we were able to pet one for about 20 minutes.
In short, Captain Ted Nesti is one very fun professional fisherman.  He had more than 25 spots for us to try, which proves he knew the area extremely well.  We also felt safe at all times.  He did everything and more to assure us that we had a great day no matter how the fishing went.  Best money I have ever spent.

Captain Ted Nesti is phenomenal at finding where the fish are hanging out. In an early January fishing trip, we managed to catch 9 different species of fish and had a blast. We brought home enough Drum for
all of us, but even more, we brought home terrific memories of a wonderful time with a great guide. The year before we went out and caught nothing. The difference between Captain Ted and our previous guide could not have been greater.

Fishing locations: flats just outside of Seminole Bridge with stops all the way up to Gulf

Upon arrival to launch location captain Ted was there on time with the boat ready with well full of live bait and rigged rods.

It took us 15 minutes to start fishing (10 of those spent watching baby dolphins playing at nearby boat ramp).

Got back at 12:30 and captain filleted catch for us to take to restaurant

All in all amazing day, amazing captain amazing fishing and great lunch.

Timeline:

- As we left boat ramp, saw dolphin pod with babies

- Went fishing on flats just outside Seminole bridge & caught 4 bonnet heads of 5-10 lbs, 1 grouper and 1 snapper. All catch & release.

- Went to second location close to Treasure Island to target speckled trout and got one of 1 lbs on first cast. 2 more bonnet heads followed with another snapper, a few catfish of 3-4 lbs, some lizardfish and 4 more speckled trout.

- Wanted to go target mackerel and kingfish in gulf so we went to catch some shad for bait but failed in doing so. Returned to our first location to try again for redfish.

- 20 minutes in and a few sharks and catfish later, first redfish took. Just under legal limit so we returned it.

- Another followed soon, which we kept for lunch. Around 11AM, got the biggest fish of the day a 27in redfish which we decided to keep for lunch.

- We got two more redfish and decided to call it a day

Captain was very patient, funny and interesting to be around. He taught us more than a few cool fishing tips and worked his a$$ off to get us on the fish. The boat was nice & clean. It would have easily fit a fourth person fishing. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Capt. Ted Nesti to all anglers.

P.S. After filleting the two redfish we decided to keep for lunch and packing them, he recommended an excellent restaurant where they prepared our catch!
