We troll with outriggers or deep fish with a down rigger or just bottom fish in the end its all about catching fish whatever works on that day is what we do.

Went fishing on Monday, January 23, 2017

One of the main reasons we chose to book the Como No over some other boats was because it advertised live bait. It also advertised -  “Try us out and go home to tell your friends and family what a good time you had and how the big one did not get away.”  Well, the big one did not get away, because it never bit on any of his lures, nor did any little fish….  After we were out to sea Capt Richard info’d us the guy he buys bait fish from at canal wasn’t there this morning. His fish finder showed lots of fish, we saw fish jumping, pelicans were diving all over the place eating fish.  As time went by, he tried to buy live bait at small fishing village on an island, even from 2 guys asea rowing baitfish out to a commercial fishing boat, but with no luck. They troll fished, fished deep, used outriggers;  the 1st mate even tried hand jigging with lures at the end. So was not for lack of trying, then Como No?(Why Not?);  for lack of live bait maybe?  $800 for a 7 hour boat ride circling islands was not what anyone planned, but ‘it’ does happen.

Unfortunately there is only one place to buy live bait on the Pacific side, near the city all boats and locals get them from this one person which is normally out 7 days a week. We went to his location before picking you up to no avail.
We did try all options available to us tried all lures colors, feathers, all different depths, outriggers, downriggers etc. No luck.

I did what I never had to do ever, and that is offer both couples a no time limit $100 discount each if ever you wish to try your luck again. We of course strive to make the day a great one for our customers and we failed on that day and feel as bad or possibly worse than you.

We hope one day we can make it up to you.
