Outstanding experience! Caught lots of fish. Captain Randy knew where to put us on top of the fish! Will absolutely book the same charter next time we are in Marco Island.

I chose Wild Thing because the captain had many years experience, knows the area well and would be able to provide us with the experience we wanted. We had a great time and caught some fish, but I guess I was expecting a little more for what we paid. I could have easily hired a cheaper charter, but I went a little more expensive for the experience. We spent a lot of time just watching Randy struggle to catch some bait fish, apparently the marina didn’t have any fresh shrimp. We never did catch any bait, so we ended up with plan B of using frozen shrimp. We had miles and miles of open area to fish in, but Randy decided to run another fisherman off of a spot he liked, which I thought was pretty rude for an experienced captain. They also forgot to clean out the cooler from the previous trip, so the stench from **hidden content** well was really bad. They also forgot to load any ice, so the fish we were catching were just being held in that stinky cooler at room temperature. They had good gear and were instructive and helpful and we did catch some fish, all Mackerel. The fact that Randy cleaned our catch and provided us with a bag of fillets to take to a local restaurant was a nice touch. The conversation got a little political at times and Randy was not afraid to speak his mind, which I appreciate, but it got a little awkward at times, he may have assumed he was still in his conservative echo chamber, which was not true at all. Overall, the trip was a success and we enjoyed ourselves, but for the price, I was expecting a little more professionalism. I’m not saying don’t go, but next time I go, I will try someone else.

Captain Randy was a great host and made sure everyone got a fish despite the choppy water and recent storms. Great time overall. Highly recommend.
