Yep, some days the fishing is just tough… Even when we provide live Goggle Eyes as bait (which is normally an extra charge of $120 a dozen) the bait can get killed, bitten, and stolen… I swear to god some fish are ninjas. Still though, i hope you had a good time with us an enjoyed the trip!

Again, we are sorry you felt this way. When people book Deep Sea Fishing trips you are booking for chance to catch a few large fish. It is not a gaurantee, it is not uncommon for Deep Sea Fishing trips to end in a few bites that got away and nothing being caught.

In this case you didn’t get skunked and were able to leave with 1 Spanish Mackerel, but we should have made sure to be clearer and set expectations for the trip so for that we do apollogize.

Deep Sea Fishing trips are for a chance at Size, not Quantity. Reef fishing trips are where we anchor up, hand each person a pole, and really get in on the bites and fill up the cooler. In general Reef Fishing will be mostly smaller fish compared to Deep Sea Fishing, but still very popular and tasty fish like Yellow Tail Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Mangrover Snapper, Grouper, and many more.

A Reef Fishing Trip might have been a better match for your expectations. Also in reference to the trip, 99% of charters use Bonito Strips as their trolling bait. Live bait IS NOT included and is very commonly paid extra for and subject to availability in Deep Sea Trips.

The ride out to the ocean is 45 minutes each way, and we spent 2 hours trying to catch Bonito to give you the best chance to catch a fish. Bonito practicaly THE BEST live bait fish for trolling. If you know anything about bonito, you know that they are a Deep Sea Bait fish that is notoriously hard to keep alive for extended periods of time outside of the water as they need to contiously keep swimming in very oxigenated water. Thus, very few bait stores will sell you Live Bonito and if they do by the time you bring them too your boat they will die.

Bonito arw constantly on the move in large schools, and swim very fast. You can spend an entire day chasing after them and not find any. So we made the call to switch to strips to give you a fighting chance at a fish.

While we do respect your opinion, we think its wrong to pressure us for a refund under the threat of a bad review when we didnt do anything wrong. Everyone has a chance to get skunked, we treat everyone with kindness, respect, as if they were our family. You can see by the many 5 star reviews that we value our customers and try to give them the best possible experience possible, from communication, booking, cleanliness of our boat, tackle, bait, licensing, we make sure everything we can control is 100%.

Thats why we feel it is unfair to leave us a review claiming we didnt do our part and blaming us for something we cant control. We really apreciate your buisiness, i do hope you learn from this trip and another captain doesnt have to go through the same.
