We had a great trip with Captain Wes!  We had a small group of varying ages and experience levels, and we all caught at least one good-sized Snapper and multiple other species.  Wes was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions about the fish and the equipment we were using. He was very accommodating…he made sure the adults and kids each had opportunities to catch a variety of fish using different poles, bait, and methods. 
Prior to the trip Wes was an excellent communicator. He reached out to set the expectations of the trip and began monitoring the weather a few days out.  We ended up delaying our trip due to weather based on his recommendation, and we are glad we did. The weather that day ended up being terrible, but it was perfect when we rebooked.  When he found out where we were staying, he changed the pickup/drop off location to cut down on our travel time and maximize our time on the water.
Everyone in our group would highly recommend Captain Wes and High Flying Charters to anyone looking to book a trip. I know we will definitely use him again next time we are in town.

I scheduled this trip for my son’s 17th birthday and really didn’t care about catching a particular species, we just wanted to get plenty of action as none in our party had been salt water fishing before. Captain Wes delivered and kept us on fish the whole trip. My son caught a fairly large red snapper on the first cast of the day which gave him a good fight and exactly the experience we were looking for. The rest of us stayed busy realing in fish as well. Overall, I can say that Caption Was was very knowledgeable about the area, having several spots planned out in advance, and how to catch good fish while avoiding some of the nuisance species. I’ll definitely book with him again for our next trip.

Thinking about booking a charter? Choose this one! We had such a great time with Wes! Not only was the water calm and amazing, we caught a bunch of fish, even a BIG Amber Jack (not quite long enough to keep but close), saw some huge red snapper (too bad we didn’t come in June), and got surrounded by sharks! Lol it was a great time. Didn’t even need to pay for a dolphin sight seeing your because we saw at least 10 of them. And even sea turtles!

Wes is super cool and we had a great time. 💯 % / 5 ⭐️ recommend. If and when we come back to Destin, we will be booking again!

highly recommend, went on a 6 hour offshore charter and hit multiple spots to catch lots of big reds. Captain Wes and his deckhand were very professional and knew exactly where to put us. great for experienced and inexperienced anglers. Couldn’t have asked for a better charter.

We had a great time fishing with Capt Wes. Kind of choppy at the end of our trip. But we didn’t let that slow us up. We caught, lizard fish, squirrel fish , trigger fish, cobia, & more.  Looking forward to next year
